You are on page 1/ 2

Good afternoon, everyone! Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here!

Before we do anything else, I’m going to

start with the question and invite you to do is go over in our chat box and please answer this question
on the screen “What are some of the best comments you’ve heard from your students?” What are those
comments that remind you of why you have gotten in this profession in first place? What are those best
comments that makes you keep doing this job? Caused we know how hard this job is. I know those
comments challenge us to do our BEST!

Every day in our teaching profession is an opportunity for us to share with our diverse learners our
knowledge of content within and across curriculum teaching areas

TERMINAL OBJECTIVE

ENABLING OBJECTIVE

Now let’s have an activity. Let me call this Sharing Time.

From any lesson or topic that you are teaching, what activity do think that demonstrate integration to
other subject areas?

Thanks for sharing!

This time let us acquaint ourselves with the following key concepts that facilitates deeper appreciation
of the indicator and helps you deliver lessons that are responsive to content knowledge and pedagogy.

Key Concept

Now that I discuss to you the key concept as well as some examples to this indicator, maybe you will ask
me “ARE YOU AN EXPERT IN OBJECTIVE 1? the answer is NO!

I don’t consider myself an expert, in fact I admit that no matter how many years I am teaching I’m still
learning up to this time. Fortunately, we have our master teachers Ma’am carol and Ma’am Ana and of
course our head teachers Ma’am Vicky and Sir Joey and from them I learned lots of things but
sometimes they will also feel you down …yes. just like what I have experience during my first COT. That’s
why I followed what Sir Joey told me. He said “you review the rpms” so I when back to the rubric of the
classroom observation tool to know how will I to improve my practices particularly in Objective 1 which
is the application of content knowledge within and across curriculum? Now my question is…..

“How will you know that there is an integration of content knowledge within and across curriculum?”

“sabi nila magaling talaga tayo sa content knowledge, lalo na kung matagal na natin tinuturo yun sabject
na yun..sabi nga nila khit nakapikit na ko kaya parin ituro pero un bang lesson ay naitawid ko bas sa
other teaching areas?

For those like me who ones to improve please allow me to share my best practices.

1. In “development” part of my lesson exemplar which is about Immune system. The data base of
information from Philippine setting particularly Cabuyao setting was used in presenting the lesson. The
integration of Statistic, that shows the total number of doses given helps the students to interpret the
data from different location (country). The discussion also integrates social awareness by discussing why
many people still don’t want to have vaccine. The data presented also improves the students’
quantitative and critical thinking skills to process and analyze in order for them to decide if they will
allow themselves to have vaccine and their family as well.

2. In Engagement part of my lesson which is I ask them to create a slogan based on the given situation.
The slogan speaks the students understanding of covid virus and appreciate the importance of immune
system and vaccination.
