SUBJECT: MY family

TEACHER: Macovei Marina

TIME: 45min

Lesson Objective:
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
- Identify basic family members (father, mother, sister, brother).
- Use simple sentence structures to describe family members (e.g., 'He is my father. His
name is Martin.').
- Recognize and pronounce the letters: A, I, D, M, N.
- Recite a simple rhyme related to family.

Materials:
- Visual aids (family pictures or drawings)
- Alphabet flashcards (A, I, D, M, N)
- Whiteboard and markers
- Worksheets based on the uploaded pages

Lesson Procedure:

1. Warm-up (5 minutes):
- Greet the students and engage them with simple questions.
Teacher: 'Good morning! How are you?'
Students: 'Good morning! I am fine, thank you!'
- Tell the students today's lesson is about family.
- Ask: 'Do you have a brother? Do you have a sister?' Encourage simple answers: 'Yes, I have
a sister/brother.'

2. Vocabulary Introduction (10 minutes):


- Show the images from the second page (Unit 1, My Family).
- Teach vocabulary: Father, Mother, Sister, Brother.
- Use the sample dialogue from the page to model sentences:
'He is my father. His name is Martin.'
'She is my mother. Her name is Emily.'
- Use gestures to indicate each family member.
- Student Practice:
- Have students repeat the sentences after you. First as a whole group, then individually.
- Point to pictures and ask students, 'Who is this?' Encourage them to answer, 'He is my
father' or 'She is my sister.'

3. Listening and Speaking (10 minutes):


- 'Listen and Repeat' (from the second page).
- Play an audio (if available) or read aloud the sentences with emphasis:
'He is Martin. He is strong.'
'She is Emily. She is pretty.'
'She is Tina. She is tall.'
'He is Dan. He is smart.'
- Student Practice:
- Students repeat each sentence.
- Call on individual students to say a sentence about their family using the same structure.

4. Alphabet Learning (10 minutes):


- Introduce and practice the letters A, I, D, M, N.
- Show the alphabet section from the first page.
- Introduce the sounds of the letters:
- 'A is for ant.'
- 'I is for ice cream.'
- 'D is for dog.'
- 'M is for monkey.'
- 'N is for nut.'
- Student Practice:
- Show flashcards and have students identify and pronounce the letters.
- Point to an object and ask, 'What letter is this?'

5. Rhyme Time (5 minutes):


- Clap and recite the rhyme from the first page:
'Clap, Clap, 1, 2, 3, Father, Mother, Sister, and ME!'
'Clap, Clap, 1, 2, 3, Mother, Father, Brother, and ME!'
- Have students clap along and repeat the rhyme.

6. Writing Practice (5 minutes):


- Show the writing section from the first page (trace the letters Aa, Ii, Dd, Mm, Nn).
- Provide students with a worksheet or ask them to write on the board.
7. Wrap-up and Review (5 minutes):
- Review the family vocabulary by pointing to the pictures again and asking students to
identify family members.
- Exit Ticket: Before leaving, each student must say one sentence about their family (e.g.,
'She is my mother. She is pretty.').
- Praise: End the class with encouragement and praise for their efforts!

Assessment:
- Informal assessment through participation in speaking, writing, and clapping during the
rhyme.
- Evaluate student comprehension based on their ability to identify family members and
their ability to trace letters correctly.

Extension/Homework (Optional):
- Draw a picture of your family and write one sentence about each family member, e.g., 'This
is my mother. She is kind.'
