Lesson Plan: Fruits (40 minutes)

Objectives
- Identify and pronounce common fruits in English.
- Recognize and fill in missing letters for fruit names.
- Practice speaking, listening, and writing through interactive activities.

Materials
- Flashcards of fruits (apple, banana, orange, grape, etc.)
- Whiteboard and markers
- "Fruit Song" (simple, kid-friendly song about fruits; examples: "The Fruit Song" or "I Like
to Eat Apples and Bananas")
- Worksheets with missing letters for fruit names
- Crayons or colored pencils for worksheet activity

Warm-up (5 minutes)
1. Introduction: Greet the students and ask if they know the names of any fruits in English.
2. Visuals: Show fruit flashcards and ask students to name each fruit if they know it.
3. Discussion: Encourage them to say their favorite fruit.

Activities (30 minutes)

1. Song Activity (5 minutes)


- Play a fruit-themed song and encourage students to sing along.
- Repeat the song, and ask students to stand up or clap when they hear the name of a fruit.

2. Introduce Vocabulary (5 minutes)


- Show the fruit flashcards again, clearly saying each fruit name.
- Have students repeat each fruit name after you, practicing pronunciation.

3. Missing Letters Worksheet (10 minutes)


- Give each student a worksheet with fruit names that have missing letters (e.g., "_ p p l e"
for "apple").
- Model how to fill in the missing letters for one example.
- Allow students time to complete the worksheet, helping where needed.
4. Speaking Practice (5 minutes)
- Go through each fruit on the worksheet together.
- Students hold up their worksheets, and repeat each fruit name after you in unison.

5. Drawing Activity (5 minutes)


- Ask students to draw their favorite fruit on the back of the worksheet.
- If time permits, have them color in their drawing.

Wrap-up (5 minutes)
1. Review: Hold up each flashcard again, and ask the class to say the fruit name out loud.
2. Goodbye Song: End the lesson with a simple song or goodbye phrase, thanking them for
learning about fruits.
