COMPETITION GUIDE

EVENT SCI- IMPROMPTU SPEAKING (ENGLISH & FILIPINO)

CATEGORI ELEMENTARY
ES JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

RULES 1. Participants are bona fide Elementary Pupil, Junior High


AND School and Senior High School Students.
MECHANI 2. Facilitators/ Judges will give the theme to the participants.
CS 3. After the theme has been given, there will be a total of 15
minutes to develop their content.
4. The content will be focused on the theme to be given by the
facilitator/ judge with science implications.
5. They will be given a total of 3 minutes for their impromptu.
6. The facilitator/ judges may notify the contestant when they
have fully consumed their time.
7. This year’s 21st National Science quest theme is
“Harnessing Science Innovation to Build a Resilient
and Sustainable Future”.
8. There will be five (5) winners in every category.
9. The first-place winner in the Division level will be qualified for
the 21st National Science Quest.
CRITERIA 1. Substance of the Content 25 %
FOR 2. Relevance to the Theme 20 %
JUDGING 3. Organization of the Quality of Ideas 30 %
4. Stage Presence 10 %
5. Enunciation, Diction and Gesture 15 %
Total 100 %
NOTES  Contestants must bring their school ID for proper
identification.
 Contestants must be in the venue until the competition has
been concluded.
 Contestants are required to bring their receipts for
verification purposes.
 Contestants will no longer be accepted when the competition
has already been started by the facilitators/judges.
 The decision of the Board of Judges is final.
