condemns tragic killing of grade 7 student in Talisay, Cebu. For detailed

Field Reporter 1: Thank you Angeline. The Department of Education (DepEd) Region 7
expressed deep sorrow over the tragic killing of a Grade 7 student in Talisay
City, Cebu.
The incident, which occurred early Friday morning on April 26, 2024,
shocked the community and raised concerns about the safety of students as
they engage in remote learning activities.

According to initial reports, the victim, a 14-year-old girl, whose identity is

being withheld due to her minor status, was working on her learning
modules inside her residence in Sit Riverside 1, Barangay Cansojong, Talisay
City.

The unidentified assailant gained entry into her home and shot her.

Dr. Salustiano Jimenez, the regional director of DepEd-7, condemned the

brutal act and called for prompt action from the authorities to apprehend the
perpetrator responsible for this heinous crime.

the local government unit of Sindangan headed by Municipal Mayor, Hon.
Nilo Florentino Z. Sy, thru the office of the municipal cultural affairs, sports,
and tourism development led by the Local Government Unit of Sindangan
Tourism. Activities to be expected starting on May 1, 2024 are Bangkarera,
Dart Tournament, Inter-Sindanganon Volleyball Championship, and Music
Fest 2024 Battle of the Band. On May 2, 2024, we have our Invitational
Motorcross. Football Tournament May 4-5, 2024 and Basketball
Tournament. So mark the dates on your favorite activities everyone and see

Stock markets rose Friday as cooling US job growth raised hopes of
interest-rate cuts, while London hit another record high following
speculation of a bidding war for mining giant Anglo American.

Investors had been keenly awaiting the data, as the US non-farm payrolls
(NFP) figures are key to the Federal Reserve’s decision-making on when to
lower interest rates.

Analysts at Forex.com had expected the US economy to add 238,000 jobs

last month, and wages to increase by 0.3 percent month on month.
At the same time, the figures were likely to “validate” Fed Chair Jerome
Powell’s belief that the next policy move is unlikely to be a rate hike.

The dollar slid against its main rivals after the data was released.

“We will also see weaker US bond yields, with risk assets continuing to see
upside,” he added.

company on Thursday, May 2, INQUIRER.net asked Evangelista how female
friendships contribute to the overall landscape of women’s empowerment,
as she is an avid advocate of uplifting fellow women and shaping a world
where every woman feels confident and empowered.

The Kapuso actress underscored that one’s “heart” or personality will

matter more at the end of the day, as she acknowledged that “women can be
tough on each other” especially in a society where it is dictated that
“everything is a competition.”

The Filipina socialite shared that only when she grew older did she learn to
be more confident and to stop being hard on herself. She then advised
people who are still learning to be safe in their own skin.
