Pre-Story Reading Activities Activity 1: JUMP TO WORD
Time: 15 MINUTES
Procedure (How to Apply): The teacher chooses
the words from the story and makes flashcards.
The teacher asks the learners to repeat by one by

the floor periodically. Finally the teacher wants

Procedure: The teacher checks the students what
they know about the story and wants the students
tell the story even if it is in their mother tongue.

Procedure: The teacher selects pictures from the
story scenes and prepares some sentences about
them. She mixes them up and wants the students
to match the sentences to pictures.

Activity 2: MISSING THE SCENE
Time: 10 MINUTES
Procedure: The teacher makes order the pictures
used in first activity on the table. The learners
come together around the table. She asks them to
take a glance at photos and then to close their
eyes. In the meantime, the teacher pulls one of
the pictures and hides. At the end, the teacher
asks the learners to open their eyes and find the
missing scene.

Activity 3- ACT MIMICS
Time: 15 Minutes
Procedure: The children mimic and act
according to the story character. They can mimic
at their desk or in a clear space in the classroom.

Post-Story Reading Activities Activity 1: CUTTING
Time: 10 MINUTES
Procedure: The teacher brings the scissors and
paper on which there are masks of the characters.
She wants the students to cut the paper according
to the lines.

Activity 2- ROLE-PLAY
Time: 15 Minutes
Procedure: The teacher wants the students to
wear masks made in previous activity. After that,
the teacher gives the roles to each student from
the story and wants them to act.

Activity 3- DICTATION OF WORDS
Time- 15 MINUTES
Procedure: The teacher chooses words that
students have learned at the first part of the class
and reads each of them one by one then wants
them to write correctly without checking the
words.
