BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (BMS) CONTROLS TECHNICIAN


MAINTENANCE AND ENGINEERING DIVISION

JOB SUMMARY:
The job is responsible for performing a range of instrumentation and controls equipment maintenance for
the HVAC and maintenance systems throughout the facility as well as the repair and maintenance if the
BMS network.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Works on basic HVAC network systems, including fiber optic networks and building management
communication network shooting;
• Performs basic electrical instillation;
• Requires to readily use temperature and relative humidity meters, data loggers, electrical volt and
amp meters;
• Works closely with HVAC and plumbing field technicians to facilitate repairs and maintenance of
HVAC and plumbing equipment;
• Performs minor AC and plumbing mechanical repairs;
• Assists other Maintenance team member when required
• Assist with painting and upkeep of HVAC and plumbing equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of an Associate degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or equivalent qualifications
• Three (3) to five (5) years working experience in instrumentation and controls equipment systems or
other related equipment
• Knowledge of BACnet a plus
• Knowledge of safe work practices
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance systems
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Requires working shift

JOB COMPETENCIES:
• Ability to read blue prints, control drawings and logic controls programming
• Strong electrical /electronic troubleshooting skills
• General understanding of the theory of VFD’s
• Basic knowledge of NFPA codes and regulations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
