3 topic and construct your own problem:

1 for Age Word Problem

1 for Mixture Problem

1 for Speed-Distance-Time

"AGE WORD PROBLEM"

Galila is thrice as old as his son, Berjame. The sum of their ages is 68. How old are both of them?

B=x

G = 3x

x + 3x = 68

4x = 68

4x/4 = 68/4

x = 17

3x(17)

x = 51

Explanation:

The solution uses variables to represent the ages:

Berjame = x

Galila = 3x

The sum of their ages is 68, so the equation is: x + 3x = 68

Solving for berjame age: x added by 3x = 68 we get 4x = 68 and reduce into lowest term by 4:
4x/4 = 68/4 we get x = 17 (Berjone's age)

Galle's age is 3 times Berjone's age: G = 3x(17) we get x = 51 (Galle's age)

Therefore, BERJAME is 17 years old and Galila is 51 years old.

"MIXTURE PROBLEM"

How many liters of 30% alcohol solution should be added to 30 liters of a 60% solution to make
a 40% solution?

b/c - c/a = x/y

60/40 - 40/30 = x/30

20/10 = x/30

20/10 - 10/10 = x/30

2/1 = x/30

x = 60L

Explanation:

The solution using the alligation method

'x' represents the unknown volume of the 30% solution.

Formula:

b/c - c/a = x/y

Subtract the desired percentage (40%) from each of the given percentages (30% and 60%)

We have 60/40 Subtract by 40/30 = x/30 we get 20/10 =x/30 reduce into lowest term by 10/10
we get 2/1 = x/30 and we need to multiply it, 1(x), 2(30) we get x = 60L

we have 30 liters of the 60% solution, we can set up a proportion: 20/10 = 30/x Solving for x, we
get x = 60 liters.

Answer: 60 liters of 30% alcohol solution should be added.

" SPEED - DISTANCE - TIME"

A plane travels 400,000 meters in 8,000 seconds. What is its speed?

S = D/T

S = 400,000/80,00
S= 50m/s

Explanation:

Formula:

Speed = Distance / Time

Given:

Distance = 400,000 meters

Time = 6000 seconds

Calculation: Speed = 400,000 meters divide by 8,000 seconds we get 50 m/s

Answer: The plane's speed is 50 m/s

After answering your own formulated problems. The following questions should be
answered.

1. How did you formulate your own problem from the 3 topics mentioned?

I focused on a relationship between two people's ages.

I created a scenario where different solutions are combined to achieve a desired concentration.

2. How did you determine that your own constructed problem is aligned in the 3 topics
mentioned?

I made sure that each problem involved the key elements of its respective topic. The problems
are well-aligned with the three topics.

3. What do you think of the level of difficulty you encountered upon constructing the problem?

I aimed for problems that were challenging enough to require some thought but not overly
complicated.

4. How did you arrive at your answers?

I used a combination of algebraic techniques and logical reasoning:

I defined variables and translated the problem's information into mathematical equations.

I used algebraic methods to solve for the unknown variables.

I ensured the answers made sense in the context of the problem.

5. Enumerate the steps you follow upon answering your constructed problems?
Step 1: I carefully analyze the problem to identify the key information and the unknown variables.

Step 2: I assign letters to represent the unknown quantities.

Step 3: I express the relationships between the variables as mathematical equations.

Step 4: I use algebraic methods to solve for the unknown variables.

Step 5: I ensure the solution makes sense in the context of the problem and satisfies all the
conditions.
