1. Why do people need free time activities?
People need spare time activities to help reduce stress and find a sense of
enjoyment outside of their daily routines. Free time activities offer a
mental break from work or studies, allowing people to maintain a healthy
balance.
2. How have hobbies changed over recent years?
Hobbies have evolved significantly, mainly because of development in
technology. In the past,…… Today, many hobbies are digital such as
gaming, streaming or online content creation.
3. Do you think people have enough free time these days?
In my opinion, modern life has become fast-paced with a lot of
responsibilities for jobs and family.
4. What are the benefits of having a hobby?
Having a hobby offers numerous benefits. Firstly, it helps people recharge
their batteries after a tiring day of work. Secondly, it is time for themselves
to reduce anxiety/ stress and improve mood. Lastly, it provides
opportunities for people to socialize and build relationships with others. It
is very important for emotional well-being.
5. How do hobbies affect people’s lives?
From my perspective, hobbies have a positive effect/ influence on
people’s lives
6. Do you think hobbies should be educational or just for fun? Why?
Both – depends on people’s interests and goals. Educational hobbies such
as learning a language and photography -> improve or enhance skills
Purely funny -> enjoyable -> mental break and relaxation.
7. Is there a difference between the free time activities of children and
adults?
There are huge differences. Children often prefer playful, active and
imaginative activities such as playing games, drawing or outdoor activities.
Compared to children, adults show a stronger preference for skill-based
activities.
8. What role does technology play in modern hobbies?
Huge role -> In this technology-driven world, modern hobbies such as
gaming, digital art and social media creation. It allows people to learn new
skills and connect with hobby communities -> diverse
9. How do hobbies and free time activities differ among generations?
Traditional activities – cooking, gardening, reading…
Technology-based activities because they are familiar with digital tools
10. What challenges do people face when trying to find time for hobbies?
People encounter so many challenges when finding time for hobbies because
nowadays they have busy schedules, work demands and family
responsibilities. It is hard for them to switch off from work. People may feel
guilty for spending time for hobbies because instead they can work for extra
hours and earn more money.

11. Do you think the government should support recreational activities?


Why or why not?
It may boost their productivity.
Allocate funds -> building parks, sports facilities and public programs
12. How can people balance work and leisure time effectively?
Good time management skill -> set boundaries
Scheduling regular breaks, 1-2hour break for a day. Say “no” for extra work

system in your country and that in other countries?
In Vietnam, exam-focused, learn by heart. Memorization and theoretical
knowledge. Western countries, practical knowledge -> prepare students for
real-life scenarios.
15. Do you think the schools and universities in Vietnam help prepare
students for the real world and the job market?
Course for technical skills and job-focused knowledge. They are not given a
lot of opportunities to develop their soft skills like communication or
teamwork, problem-solving.
16. Which jobs would you say are most respected in your country?
Receive respects from everyone.
Doctors, teachers and government officials – make decision
Impart knowledge
17. What do you think about the trend of continuously switching jobs
among young people these days?
Want to have high income, explore more fields and find their true passion
It may prevent them from having a stable job and deep expertise
