PHẦN 4 . WATCHING A MOVE:
Person A: I had high expectations for this film. It is a sequel I had been looking forward to since the
end of the last one. I even went to the cinema alone so that I wouldn’t be interrupted by anyone. But,
was I ever let down! The special effects were so unrealistic and poorly done. There was very little
character development and too many plot holes in the story line. I can’t believe I wanted a whole
year for that. The only saving grace was the lead actor. He played his part well, but I can’t say the
same for the others
Who found the film scary?
Who enjoyed the story of the film?

Person B. I don’t really like watching movies the cinema. I would much rather stay in and stream
one at home. my friends really wanted to see this new film, so I joined them on a whim. The tickets
cost an arm and a leg and I couldn’t believe the price of medium size! Was the movie good? Well,
yes, it was alright, but I could have done without spending all that money!
Who was the film at home?

Person C. Normally, I avoid films that are based on books that I have read. I don’t feel like they
ever do the literature and justice, however, this one was the exception. The director really respected
the author’s vision and included all the necessary plot points. Of course, some details were missing,
but if they were included, the film would be like 6 hours long. The set was also amazing. Overall, I
can’t find a flaw! That being said, I still don’t think I’ll watch any other book-based movies.
Who enjoyed the story of the film?
Who through the film was too long?
Who like read the book of the film?

Person D. I can’t stand musical. I think there are too many dance numbers and not enough content.
So, I was hesitant when my girlfriend wanted to go watch one. I can’t believe I am admitting it, but it
blew me away! The emotion of actors was incredible. I laughed. I cried. I did think it could include a
bit more dialogue though. Action films are still my favorite, but I definitely will give musical
another chance after enjoying this one so much

Phien ban 2 : visite a city phiên bản mới

Person A: when I visite a new place, I have only two things in mind - good food and good play. I
am not really interested in things like architecture or shopping. I enjoyed my exxcellent luch in
Stevenson, and it put me in a good mood for my afternoon activities. It just surpried me that
everything is so expensive and that you have to walk so far. This was not really a problem though, as
I still had a pleasant day.
who pay a lot for their meal?

Person B . my first impression was how big the city was, and I was worried about getting around. All
the different parts of the city like the shopping areas and the green areas are quite far apart. At the
information centre. Howevr, we were given the bus routes for the places we wanted to visit. We
bought a day ticket, which worked out very cheap. I was greated that I didn’t need to put any extra
pressure on my sore foot.
Who think public transport system was good?
Who walking too much cause a problem?

Person C. I visited there last summer and really enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere. This can be left
throughout the city, but particularly in the centre. When the weather is hot, there are a lot of
performances, which are free to view. These take place on a stage outside the department stores, and
this prevented me from going inside stores. I was surpried to arrive home with empty shopping
bags, a full wallet and good memories of the shows
who usually spend a lot of money on shopping?
who like the public theatre that the city puts on?

Person D . I don’t generally go to big cities because of the crowds, but I look forward to visting
Stevenson four or five times a years. There’ an area just outside the city centre where i love to rela.
You do need to take the train there though. The place has everything I need with a lot of water, a
small forest and special picnic spots. It creats well for tourism because there are also some very
basic, but good ideas.

Person A . in the newspapers I saw, I knew food was appetizing, but I arrived later than the rest of

which was delicious. And for surroundings atmosphere? The quiet background music was ok.
The decoration was up to date and the place struck correct note with me
1. Who enjoyed the atmosphere in restaurant?
2. Who though music was too quiet?

Person B: I am not sure I come back again. I think staff have been arguing before I arrived, so the
atmosphere was not pleasant. The food was nothing. I had the fish and chip and it wasn’t bad, but
it was not great. I think they just had a bad day. Other people said it was fabulous, but not for me.
1. who definitely not return to restaurant?
2. Who thinks bad experience was usual?
3. Who thought food was average quality?

Person C . I was looking forward to visiting, but I would rather eat nothing than the meal there.
The menu was big which caused a bad sign, and the style of food didn’t match modern decoration
which overall resulted in strange experience that I don’t want to repeat. The waiters were not too
friendly either, so I am impressed at all.
4. Who didn’t eat anything at restaurant?
Person D: the menu was fantastic and really varied. My favorite part of a meal is starter and there
was too many of those to choose from. Prices were average, the quality of food was above that my
only criticism was noise level. There was a small live band playing on the right I went, and they
didn’t manage to down some of life diners. Turn up the coming time

Phần 5: dogget race for prize

Đoạn 1. The race created by T-Doggett, an actor and comedian who became manager of Rock
Theatre. He relied heavy upon the water of the Thames, to make the way become easy and quicker
for all. Using a small boat called a skiff they would ferry passengers along and across the river. With
atrocious roads and narrow. Congested city streets, the Thames was the most convenient highway in
the region. Doggett would use the river to commute between his work places in and residence in
Chelsea

Đoạn 2. There is a common tale that in 1755, Doggett was recused by a waterman after falling into
the river whilst crossing the Thames. To demonstrate his appreciation for his rescue, that year he
orrganised a race with a prize offered to the fastest of eleven young wateman. They would race a 7.4
kilometre course between pub at London Bridge and pub in Chelsea.

Đoạn 3. Doggett chose a traditional = origins red waterman’s coat as a prize. The coat was furnished
with a silver representing Liberty, to commemorate the crowning of House of Hanover on 12 August
1726. Doggett arranged the race for August each year in tribute to the conronation. The current badge
prominently features both the word “Liberty” and an image of the horse of the House of Hanover

Đoạn 4. After the Fishmongers’Company from the City of London continued the race following the
specific instructions left of Doggett’s original instructions. Firstly, instead of going against the tide of
the river, the race has ruin with incoming tide. Also, the boats used by the competitors no longer to be
commercial vessels, but due to decilning numbers of watermen, the Fishmongers’Company permitted
competitors to have three successive opportunities to win the race
Đoạn 5. To this day, the winer’s prize is still the traditional red waterman’s coat accompanied by a
silver and the word “Liberty”. In addition, all competitors who have compieted the course receive a
minuature of a Doggett’s Badge for their collar. The winner recerives a silver badge; other
compertitors receive a bronze one. Beyond the prizes offered by the organising body, wimming the
Doggett’s Coa to the talented waterman. While this is no longer the case, and something of an
anachronism, winning the Doggett’s Coat and Badge is still seen as a great honnour : danh dự to this
day.

Đoạn 6. In 2012 , six rowers originally competed and the race was won by a 13 – year – old
waterman called Dhan. Dhan came from a family of waterman and his father won his Doggett coat
and badge in 1917. His uncle and two cousince have also won the race. However, the Dhan family
don’t hold the record of wins for the race. The honour falls to the Phelps family, which has now won
the race ten times

Đoạn 7: the history of familues winning the Doggest demonstrates its significance. Being a
waterman these days is now probably seen as less of a career and more a matter of maintaing family
traditions not for watermen who become Royal Watrmen. Each waterman receives a modest sum of
$1.50 a year for his work but the prestige of wearing the famous red Jacket and sivel badge on
important state occasion is pricrless.

J - 0. When people think about Chinese food, the first thing that comes to mind is probably some
other ubiquitous menu item in small take-away restaurants around the world. Other people might
associate the Chinese diet with strange ingredients and unusual meats. In reality, the term Chinese
food includes an enormously broad range of food types and a complex variety of cooking techniques.
Đoạn 1. As in most cultures, the Chinese food tradition grew from basic hunting and gathering. Over
the centuries, society became more sophisticated as did the cooking and, about 2000 years ago, food
preparation started to become a form of high art in China. Experts consider this 'art' to have reached
its peak in the early 1900s. Then the main focus was to extract the maximum flavor from each
ingredient. but still maintain the simplicity of the dish. Not all Chinese people ate like this; most
people followed a diet of rice and vegetables.

D OAN 2. One of the many complex influences on Chinese food is the concept of yin and yang. Yin
and yang are opposites that complement each other to achieve a natural balance. For example, sweet
and Sour, and cold and hot. In the Chinese food tradition, different foods are seen as 'hot or 'cold.
regardless of the temperature of the dish itself. Lemon and green tea are 'cold', while onion and
chocolate are hot. People attempt to maintain the body's internal balance of hot' and 'cold' by
selecting the right type of food to eat. This forms a fundamental part of how people maintain health
and prevent disease.

Đoạn 3. Besides philosophy, another influence on Chinese food is the availability of ingredients, and
this has given rise to distinct regional varieties of cooking. The coastal areas, particularly in the south
of the country, are famous for tasty seafood dishes. In China's northern region intensive wheat
cultivation has meant that a main part of the diet is noodle dishes. In the rice-producing southern
areas, however, no meal is complete without a bowl of white rice. South western regions are well
known for their spicy soups, but in the drought affected north-western areas grilled meats are
common.

Đoạn 4 . Despite significant regional differences in ingredients, several preparation techniques are
common throughout China. Vegetables tend to be chopped up into bite-size pieces that can be picked
up using chop-sticks. Often meat and fish are served 'on the bone' because this is considered tastier.
Frying ingredients in small amounts of oil is a common way to cook, and steaming food is aiso
popular. It is common to see freshly steamed pork buns being sold on the streets of any Chinese city.

ĐOẠN 5. Street food is a popular way to eat, and small road-side stalls are common. In fact, eating
out has always been a part of the culture, most likely because kitchens in people's homes tend to be
small and small restaurants are inexpensive. The Chinese meal is always a group event and shared
dishes are set out in the centre of the table so that guests can try a variety of foods, using their chop-
sticks to select tasty mouthfuls of food. The meal is usually accompanied with tiny cups of tea which
are constantly refilled or, on very special occasions, rice wine will be brought out.
Đoạn 6. While the love of traditional Chinese food is strong, there are signs that the Chinese diet is
altering. Traditionally, dairy products were absent from the Chinese diet, and many Chinese show
symptoms of being mildly allergic to milk. Today, however, there is an increase in the demand for
dairy products as more and more parents feed their children milk to promote growth. Also, the
Chinese now consume a more diverse range of foods from different countries. The more diverse
eating habits of the urban population mostly seem to include richer, higher fat foreign fast foods and
Chinese dishes.

Đoạn 7.The large size of the Chinese population means that their eating habits will affect food
resources around the world and have an impact on the Chinese nation itself. Increased demand for
meat and milk will put a strain on food production in China and abroad. Because the changing diet
has led to an increase in diseases usually associated with wealthy, developed nations, overall
population health is also a concern. As the Chinese economy grows, achieving the balance that is at
the centre of Chinese food philosophy will certainly become more challenging

phần 5. Comsumer age : khách hàng

Đoan 1 : Only a few generation ago, the number of possessions that most people owned was far
fewer than these by the average person in a developed country today. For example, shoes were
expected to be worn for many years; when necessary, they would be repaired rather than discarded as
fashion was regarded as a luxury. If you were lucky enough to have a telephone, the same machine
might be expected to be in use for a lifetime
ĐOAN 2 . In the face of modern consumerism, journalist Judith decided to make an experiment to
her lifestyle: she and her husband would reduce their spending to a minimum. For a whole year, they
would only busy essential items, such as food, and things need for work. They would mend anything
that broke or was old, and they would avoid going out to the cinema, or visiting cafes and restaurant.
Although they would save money. As a writer, she planned to document to entire year with the aim
of publishing her finding as a book .
Doạn 3. In order to make the experiment as possible, the couple did not tell people = why they were
no longer buying thing. If they had told them, their friends might have offered to pay for them, which
would defeat the purpose. Judit practical it was, and to see how it affected her own mental state and
her relationships with friends, family and strangers. She wanted to know it would feel to live outside
the modern consumerist age.
Đoạn 4 . published in 2016, the book was called not buying. Reading it more than ten years later, it is
interesting to see how predicted many of today’s concerns, such as platies waste and excessive screen
time. she realized how much waste she was generating as a result of shopping. added to this, she
because more local in her shopping habits, which again seems to be a current trend. She also
anticipated the growing interest in adopting a minimalist lifestyle in telation to possessions.
Đoạn 5. One of the most interesting problems the Levin encountered was giving gifts. As they were
not allowed to buy unnecessary things, they decided that the best option was to make them. However,
as neither of them had particular artistic skills, rather cheap, and they decided it would not be
appropriate to give it to her. lucky, Pa had an inspiration; he suggested that his wife should choose
something that she loved. This turned out to be piece of jewelry, which proved to be the perfect gift.
Đoạn 6. A more serious issue concerned meeting for work. In new York, where Judith was based, it
was common for journalists to meet their sources and contacts in cafes to discuss the stories they
were working on. This was not an option for Judith, as she did not want rely on there to pay. She
didn’t have an office, and meeting at her home seemed inappropriate. This was a real problem and in
the end she decided to continue visiting cafes, as they were necessary to her work. When working
alone, however, Judith found public libraries very convenient
Đoạn 7. Overall, the year proved to be a fascinating experiment, and reading about it makes you
realise how dependent on shopping most of us being more mindful of what we buy is vital for our
planet, as resources are rapidly diminishing. On a more personal level, as well as the obvious
economic benefit, there are health benefits from cutting out unnecessary food and drinks and
switching from car use to cycling and walking. It forces you to use your imagination to come up with
ways to live with fewer things. It was certainly an eye-opening insight for this reader.

Phần 5. Zoo
Đoạn 1: the first zoos, which were over 3,600 years, were establish for the entertainment of leaders.
The earliest know zoo belong to Queen in Europe, and was populated with animals acquired. The
ruler Monter owned an enormous zoo which required. The ruler Monter owned an enormous zoo
which required more than 200 people to maintain it. King Hetish kept a collection of cats in parkland
around his palace, and other contributed to this collection by giving gifts of exotic animals
Đoạn 2. by the 18th century, entering to zoos was no longer limited to the rich. In Europe, zoos began
to attract the public. This trend stared in Austria in 1787 when the king allowed his subjects to view
the collection of animals. During the course of the period, a zoo was founded in the “wild Zoo” in
Paris. In the spirit, it was declared that the zoo would be free opening for all visitors and tourist
Đoạn 3. The display of animals in zoo was originally see as a form of entertaining, first for the rich.
A major change occurred with the opening of Zoo in 1835. This was the first zoo that was designed
for scientific study. The animals were in cages, allowing scientist to observe them up close. Boards
displayed in front of the cages provided information to the public about behavior of the animals. The
role that zoos play in education continues to this day
Đoạn 4 . Another development in the history of zoos was initiated by a robber, also a seller of wild
animals, in the 1930s. his design for a zoo situated animals in an environment that resembled that of
origins. There were no cages, and animals lived outdoors in natural setting. He also took the decision
to house different animals in the same area, they would like together in the wild thus allowing
visitors to observe the animals
Đoạn 5. His ideas are still followed by most large modern-day zoos. There has been a shift in the
perception of how people view institutions. The argument goes that using wild animals for the
purpose of entertainment or education is a form of exploitation, and that the removal from its nature
is wrong. furthermore, some people said that they are not taken into account in an enclosed setting
Đoạn 6. Zoos have responded to these criticisms by adopting role. The zoos and supporters argue that
many species have come under threat in recent decades and will continue to remain. Zoos aim to
protect endangered species such as the panda, and create conditions where they can breed. These
initiatives, which are know as breeding programs, started in the 1905s and continue to this day with
successes.
Đoạn 7. A society has changed and developed over the centuries, zoos and our attitudes towards
them. But what of the future? in our own twenty- first century, audio, and visual recording can
provide an experience when watching a nature documentary. We can see creatures from every
imaginable habitat close-up. These experience, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of our own
homes, may represent a challenge to the traditional pastime of visiting a zoo. Indeed, as the
technology of virtual reality becomes ever more sophisticated, they may even replace it
