The Importance Counseling Education for Student


Good morning to my honored lecture and all friend that I proud of.
Today, on this occasion I will deliver a speech about the Importance of Counseling Education
for Students. But first, I want to ask, have you ever felt bored while studying? Have you ever
felt scared about the future? Or do you feel insecure because your friends look smarter than
you? Yes, I'm the same way. I have felt it all. So what do we need? Of course we need
someone to talk and discuss. As a student generally tells their stories or their problem to their
parents and friends. But, on the other hand, there are students who have certain internal
problems so they can not talk to their parents or friends. This is the role as a counseling
teacher is needed to become a counselor for students.
In the current era of education is certainly more complex and full of pressure, Counseling
Teacher is considered very important because it can help students recognize their potential
also develop their interests and talents. Not only for developing personal potential, counseling
can also help students manage their stress, anxiety, and the other problem. There is an
organization called ASCA (American School Counselor Association) specificaly a
association who publishing journals, research, bulletins, and case, studies about the urgency
of Counseling Education in Schools for student. In Indonesia, the government is quite aware
of the importance of counseling education, we can see the Minister of Education Regulation
no. 111 of 2014 concerning Counseling Education in Elementary School and Junior High
Schools must be held inside or outside the classroom. This is a good step for the educational
in Indonesia to improve their human resources through educational programs by providing
counseling education to students. Then, how about in senior high school and university? Is it
important? Of course the answer is very important, it is hoped that the government will be
aware of this issue and make a new policy about counseling education in high schools and
the world of college.
Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, in conclusion to create a generation who have emotionally
and intellectually healthy, appropriate Counseling Education is really important so that the
human resources created are smart and have a good personality.
Hopefully what I said in this speech can make the generall public aware of how important
counseling education for student. It is also I hoped this will be a note for the government to
add new policy of providing counseling education in senior high schools and in university.
