A long long time ago, there was once a place beside the sea
in the island of Samar where lots of “balaug”or vines grew. When
the seas got rough during bad weather or when the monsoons blew
during the months of July, August, and September, fishermen and
seafarers from nearby islands would seek shelter in the seacoast
where lots of “balaug” grew.
Once the weather has improved and the men would return to
their homes, they would tell their love ones that they stayed in a
safe place where “kabalaugan” or “katbalaugan” abound.
