Directions: Complete this document INDIVIDUALLY based on your understanding of today’s discussion, prior

knowledge, and using the two documents “Homeostasis Lab” and “Guide to Writing a Lab Report”. Your group

members have been assigned 2 of the dependent variables in the Lab - find the list in today’s MySJA Assignment.

Write your research hypothesis according to Part II of “Guide to Writing a Lab Report”

Research Hypothesis (typed): If you increaser your exercise time then your respiration and pulse rate

will increase.

Outline your 1st and 2nd paragraphs according to Part II of “Guide to Writing a Lab Report”

First Paragraph (outlined w/ bullet points):

 It helps doctors and scientist and people who have heart and lung conditions know how much

exercise they can handle

 will determine if our respiration and pulse rates increase or decrease

Second Paragraph (outlined w/ bullet points):

 Homeostasis is a state of balance among all the body systems needed for the body to survive

and function correctly. Like when you breath heavily after going for a run or when your heart is

beating fast after working out.

 Respiration Rate – the number of breaths a person takes per minute during strenuous exercise

 Pulse Rate – the number of times your heart beats per minute during strenuous exercise

Using the recommendations in the “Homeostasis Lab” document, research homeostasis and the

variables you’ll be using. Include at least 2 sources from the Internet you will use for your paper below.
