Why Do we teach Euclidean Geometry in High School (Key Points

• Proofing Technique: I would say one of the big reasons why we use Euclidean
Geometry in high schools is that it allows the students to show what they are
thinking and show their reasoning behind it. During proofs techniques such
as collum proofs, it allows students to state what they are thinking and use
axioms that they have learned to use as reasons.
• Euclidean Geometry applies to everything around us: Euclidean Geometry
has many diIerent applications in the world. Jobs such as engineers,
architecture, and more use Euclidean Geometry throughout there lives.
• Preparing Students for future mathematics courses: Looking back at some of
the topics that have been taught in high school geometry, these topics give a
foundation for further advanced mathematics. These topics allow them to
grasp harder diIiculties of math later on.
