1. Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to ask and answer questions about people's favorite
holidays.
1.1. Language knowledge and skills
Vocabulary: Halloween, New Year's Eve, Lunar New Year (Tết), Christmas, Teachers' Day, Children's
Day
Sentence pattern: What's your favorite holiday? - It's Halloween.
What's her favorite holiday? - It's Christmas
Skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
1.2. Competences
Self-control and independent learning: point out and say different holidays.
Communication and collaboration: work in pairs or groups to learn about different holidays.
Critical thinking and creativity: learn how to know different holidays and spell them correctly and
fluently.

Kindness: support their friends to complete the learning tasks or play the games.
Diligence: focus on the lesson and work hard to complete all the tasks.

2. Teaching aids and materials

3. Procedures
A. Warm-up (5 minutes)
a. Objectives: To review vocabulary items about holidays, generate students’ interests and lead in the
new lesson.
b. Content: Playing the game: “Holiday Bingo” or “Holiday Scavenger Hunt”.
c. Expected outcomes and assessment.
- Task completed with excellence: Students can join the game and say the words quickly and correctly.
- Task completed: Students can get the lucky number and say the words.
- Task uncompleted: Students say the wrong flashcards or pronounce the words incorrectly.

Option 1: " Holiday Bingo" game.
- Briefly introduce the holidays covered in the game:
Halloween, New Year's Eve, Lunar New Year, Christmas, - Follow and do as guided.

contains a word or image associated with one of the
holidays.
- Demonstrate how to mark a square when a word is
called out.
- Distribute bingo cards and markers to each student.

context to reinforce learning.
- Students mark the words on their cards that match the
called word.
- The first student to complete a horizontal, vertical, or
diagonal line shouts "Bingo!" and wins the round.

- Congratulate the winners and hand out any prizes if you
have prepared them.
