While you and your students continue to adjust to new and different ways of working, we would like to tell
you a little more about how Get It Right: Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar workbooks address key
teacher concerns and learning needs.
Help identify prior Workbooks 1-3 are carefully structured to allow for progression across Key Stage 3, while the GCSE
knowledge and Workbook goes back to basics and provides targeted support to prepare students for the demands
address specific of the technical accuracy requirement at GCSE. All four Workbooks help students to reinforce their
gaps? existing knowledge and start building new knowledge on firm foundations.
Each topic is covered across a double-page spread which includes accessible teaching text and up
to 3 activities to check students’ understanding. Selected key grammar, punctuation and style
topics also include an ‘In Context’ spread which challenges students to apply their learning to
analysis of a source text and asks them to consider how they might use the feature effectively in
their own writing.
Try it Yourself activities enable teachers to check whether students have fully understood the
topic.
Provide Get It Right follows a simple approach to embed SPaG knowledge: Teach, Practise, Contextualise.

Practise: Activities have been developed to allow students to embed their learning and offer an
increasing level of challenge as students move through the topic.
Contextualise: ‘In Context’ units focus on students’ understanding and ask them to transfer their
skills to real source texts and to their own writing.
Re-connect The short, targeted lessons help students to quickly see how much they have remembered,
