According to WHO Health is a state of
complete physical, mental, social, and
spiritual well-being not merely the absent
of disease or infirmities.

What is the relation of our HEALTH to our
SALVATION?
EXODUS 15:26

THE LORD THY GOD, AND WILT DO THAT WHICH IS RIGHT
IN HIS SIGHT, AND WILL GIVE EAR TO HIS
COMMANDMENTS, AND KEEP ALL HIS STATUTES, I WILL
PUT NONE OF THESE DISEASES UPON THEE, WHICH I
HAVE BROUGHT UPON THE EGYPTIANS: FOR I AM THE

19 – What? Know ye not that your body is the
temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye
have of God, and ye are not your own?

NUTRITION
What is NUTRITION?

NUTRITION is proper
amount (gidaghanon) and
proper quality (nutritional,
vitamin) food taken at a
proper time.
The kinds of food we eat
affect our character. Our
bodies are built up from the
food we eat. There is
constant breaking down of
tissues of the body; every
organ involves waste and this
waste is repaired from our
food. Each organ of the body
requires its share of nutrition.
OUR BODY MACHINES
HEART – produces more or less 100,000 beats a day
BLOOD- circulates in our body about 17 miles a day
LUNGS – we breathe about 20,000 times a day
MUSCLE – moves 750 times a day
MOUTH – there are 4,000 words spoken a day
BRAIN – there are 14 billions of cells in our brain that are
constantly use everyday
In order to know what the best foods are, we must study
God’s original plan for man’s diet. He who created man
and understood his needs appointed Adam his foods.
Genesis 1:29; 3:18
1:29 – And God said, behold, I have given you every herb
bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and
every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed;
to you it shall be for meat.
3:18 – Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee;
and thou shalt eat the herb of the field.

a. Combine protein with vegetables only.
b. Combine starches with vegetables and other starches only.
c. Fruits are best eaten alone or with dairy products, nuts or seed
d. Eat sweets fruit alone.
e. Eat melon alone. When stored turn to gas.

f. Eat only one kind of protein at a meal. Exception: Flesh may contain with
flesh, seed with seeds.
g. Do not drink liquids during meals. They dilute your digestive, 30 minutes
before eating and 2 hours after eating.
h. Eat slowly and enjoy what you are eating.

3. Milk should not be used instead of water in the making of raise or

4. Hot or new raise bread of any kind is difficult to digest.

palatable foods.

6. The use of milk and sugar taken together should be avoided.

REGULARITY IN EATING
1. Eat only what the system requires. No junk foods, processed
foods, coffee, tea, soft drinks, chocolates, cakes, etc.

4. Five or six hours should intervene between meals.
WRONG CONDITION OF EATING
1. Food should not be eaten very hot or very cold.
2. Excess use of salt robs calcium.
3. Excess use of sugar robs B-Vitamins (esp. white sugar)
4. Discard processed, refined or enriched foods/hydrogenated oil,
coffee, tea, pickled foods and dried fruits.
5. Avoid eating after an excessive exercise.
6. Do not eat when you are excited, anxious, or in a hurry.
7. Eat-slow chew food at least 36 times, because the more you chew,
the more saliva then more nutrients will be absorbed.
THE EVIL OF EATING
1. The digestive organs loss their vital force.
2. The foundation of physical, strength is undermine

3. Feverish condition (affected with fever).
4. It calls on undue amount of blood to the stomach.
5. It might result to the numbness of the brain with
dissemination to mental and physical effort.
DIET ON SABBATH
1. FOOD SHOULD BE SIMPLER, AND LESS
SHOULD BE EATEN, IN ORDER THAT THE
MIND MAY BE CLEAR AND VIGOROUS TO
COMPREHEND SPIRITUALS.
2. A CLOGGED STOMACH MEANS A
CLOGGED BRAIN.
REFORM ON DIET
There are men and women of excellent mental ability who do not accomplish haft
what they might, if they would exercise self-control in denial of appetite.
The kinds of food we eat affects our character.
• “The brain is affected by the condition of the stomach.” SOP2 1315
• A disordered stomach produces a disordered, uncertain state of mind often cause
irritability, harshness or injustice.
• Obedience to the laws of health is to be made a matter of personal duty.
• Our bodies are Christ purchase possession and we are not at liberty to do with
them as we please. All who understand the laws of health should realize their
obligation to obey these laws, which God has established in their being.

EXERCISE IS PHYSICAL
ACTIVITY THAT IS PLANNED,
STRUCTURED AND REPETITIVE
FOR THE PURPOSE OF
CONDITIONING ANY PART OF
THE BODY USED TO IMPROVE
HEALTH AND MAINTAIN
FITNESS.

• Our body needs 7-8 hours of sleep every night.
• Rest in natures build up time throughout the body.
• Lack
of sleep result: Mental depression or lack of
mental alertness, over eating, and abnormal sexual
behavior.

AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY GOD ENDED HIS
WORK WHICH HE HAD MADE;AND HE RESTED
ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORK
