Introduction:
Autonomous vehicles also
known as self-driving cars
or driverless cars.
It has capable of
navigating and driving
without human input.
These vehicles uses a
combination of sensors ,
cameras ,radar ,GPS, and
artificial intelligence.
Benefits of autonomous vehicles:
90% of the road accidents occur due to human errors, then by using
AV’s to reduce the probability of these incidents.
Passengers can rest while the car’s system take care of driving
which is beneficial during long work trips.
Autonomous systems can continuously monitor surroundings with
sensors like LiDAR, radar, and cameras, reacting faster than humans
to hazards.
AVs can drive more efficiently by avoiding harsh braking,
accelerating smoothly, and optimizing routes, leading to reduced
fuel consumption and lower emissions.
Challenges facing autonomous vehicles:
Traffic management
Infrastructure
Revenue
Police and emergency
response
Environment by using Av’s:
Future Trends in Autonomous:
Vehicles Full autonomy (Level 5) and beyond.
Integration with AI for predictive maintenance and enhanced
performance.
AVs in rural and underdeveloped regions.
Autonomous flying vehicles and air taxis.
Timeline for Av’s:
2024–2030: Wider rollout of Level 3, increasing presence of Level 4 AVs
in urban areas.
2030–2035: Level 4 AVs become more common in cities, start to be used
in delivery/logistics.
2035–2040: Expansion of Level 4, early introduction of Level 5 vehicles in
limited scenarios.
2040–2050: Full autonomy (Level 5) potentially achieved, especially in
smart cities and certain regions
Beyond 2050: A Fully Autonomous World.
