An experience where I confronted fear

I always thought my fear was too hard to beat, but the day I faced it, I realized I could overcome any fear.
In seventh grade, I had to confront my fear of speaking in front of the whole class. One day, my teacher
announced that we would each have to give a short speech about our favorite sportsperson. As an
introverted person, the idea of standing in front of everyone, with all eyes on me, made me so nervous that
my heart sank. I even thought of asking my teacher if I could skip it, but I knew I had to give it a shot.
When my teacher called my name, I walked to the front of the class, feeling my hands grow cold. I tried to
remember all the details I had practiced at home. At first, I struggled, but then I looked up and saw my
best friend smiling at me. Somehow, that boosted my confidence. I took a deep breath and continued,
telling everyone why Cristiano Ronaldo was an amazing athlete and why he is an icon in my eyes.
When I finished, the class clapped, and I felt so proud of myself. Facing my fear of speaking in front of a
large audience taught me that sometimes tasks aren’t as hard or scary once you just start doing them.
