KATIHAR
SUMMER ASSIGNMENT
2024-25
LKG
TO BE COMPLETED
AND BROUGHT TO THE SCHOOL
ON 1st JULY’24.
Dear Parents
We are going for the Summer Break from 01-06-2024 to 29-06-2024
and the school will reopen on 01-07-2024, Monday.

This booklet reopen contain the assignment to be completed by your

ward during this vacation .

Although we hate to give home work in the sense that it is commonly

understood, we would like to define its role and purpose:

Let's not make the children feel that learning is confined to school.
Relate the learning that takes place inside the classroom to what is
happening outside, e.g. at home .In order to link these homework
needs to be so designed.

Some drill work is a necessary part of learning e.g. learning tables,

spellings, aspect of grammar, maths formulae and the like.

Doing a little homework on one's own is a good habit to be inculcated

in the pupil. It need not be anything different; it can take the form of
drill exercise, or include reading a lesson aloud. It may
include an activity, making or observing something, collecting an item of
interest, preparing a chart, drawing some figures, looking around the
market or asking people question. The purpose is to help the child
exercise her /his imagination calling for originality and creativity.

Such activities help children become independent learners resulting in

gradual build -up of confidence and self - reliance.

On the next page you will find some very helpful tips for facilitating
your ward in completing his/her homework.

Regards,
Please take into account the following:-

Explain to your child the importance of the school.

The attitude you express about homework will be
the attitude your child acquires.

Establish a time for doing the assignment each day.

Maintain a daily consistency in having your child do
the assignments. In a week, studying for an hour on
a daily basis will bring forth much better results
compared to studying for hours at stretch on a
single day.

Let your child take short breaks if he /she is having

trouble focusing on a task. Studies have shown that
we learn better when we take intervals in comparison
to attempts at concentrating
for long duration of time.

Reward progress in homework. If your child has been

successful in completing the homework, celebrate
that success with him / her to give the child a sense
of achievement.
