A MICRO PROJECT PROPOSAL
Aim :- The goal of communication is to convey
information and the understanding of that information
from one person or group to another person or group

• Proposed methodology :-

• We started our poject as soon as we get our micro- project topic. We


divided our work & the finally after typing, editing & processing
micro- project get completeted.

• We collected information about the topic using sources such as the


internet & books then we asked the subject teacher about our
collected information. We selected proper font, layout, colour & so
on.

Types of organizational
communication
• What is meant by organizational communication ?

Organizational communication is the ability of an individual or

group within a collective establishment to transmit and receive

information within that collective establishment . usually


organizational communication is premised on common set

goals that the collective establishment attempts to execute.

Organization
“An organization is deliberate

arrangement of people to accomplish

some specific purposes.”

• What is communication ?
“Exchange of ideas, plans, knowledge and
Information is knows as communication.”

word “communication” however,has many and


varied meanings ,popularly speaking ,it refers
to the various means transmitting information
from individual , individual , individual to a
group of individals or from one place to
another .it is a transmission of messages ,ideas
,methods , skills , and thoughts between two or
more person. It is a mutual exchange of
facts,thoughts ,opinion or emotions by the use
of symbols ,words ,pictures , figures , graphs
and so on .
Communication is the chain of understanding
which permeats an organization from top to
bottom from bottom to top , and from side to
side ,and which moves the organization ahead
towards its stated objectives .

• “Communication that is not defined by an


organization structural hierarchy.”
• For example:- employees conversation during lunch.

• Purpose of information communication:

• Social interaction
• Enhance organizational performance.
• A thought or an idea was transmitted so
that the mental picture perceived by the
receiver was exactly the same as that
envisioned by the sender . although
elementary in theory, perfect
communication is never achieved in
practice, due to unavoidable reasons.”
• verbal communication

Communicating with words,written or


spoken .verbal communication consists of
speaking ,listening,writing and reading.
Takes place through face to face
conversation , group discussions.
Counselling interviews etc.
Process of exchanging information
between two or more persons through
written and oral words.

Advantages
• More personal and informal.
• Makes immediate impact.
• Provides opportunity for interaction and feedback.
• It is very fast and non-expensive.
• Help us to foster better relationships with your coworkers and

friends.
• Used to inform ,argue and discuss topic all of kinds.

Disadvantages
• A word once uttered is can’t be taken back .
• It can be forgotten easily.
• There is no legal evidence of oral communication.

• Non-verbal communication
• Communication without using any spoken or
written word.
• Takes place gestures, facial expression, eye contact
and touching.
• It also includes pitch, speed, tone and volume of
voice, dress and appearance etc.
• Types of non-verbal communication
• Facial expressions
• Gestures
• Body language and posture
• Eye contacts

Advantages
• Helps to communicative with someone who is hard of
hearing or deaf.
• Helps to communicative in silent zones.
• Help us to communicative with a distant person.
• Culturally determined.
• Capture feeling and emotions.
Disadvantages

• Cannot be used as a public tool of communication •


Cannot create an impression upon people / listeners.
• Misperception of body language or gestures.

• Types of verbal communication

• 1.Written communication :
• written communication is the act of writing, printing,

typing(texting) symbols like letters and numbers to

convey information.

• It is helpful because it provides a record of information

reference Emails and message chats are the

modern forms of written communication in the

workplace.

• Examples : books ,blogs ,letters ,emails, chats

• Oral communication:

• According to many research studies, 80% of

communication by managers or executives of a company

is in the oral form. Communicating by speaking orally is

one of the most efficient ways of communication.


• Examples : Telephones / mobile phone calls ,voice

messages, Interview,radio ,speeches,audio-visual

presentation

• Types non-verbal communication

• 1.Body language : body launguage is the use of

physical behavior ,expressions ,and mannerisims to

communicate nonverbally ,often done instinctively

rather than consciously .

• Examples : Eye contact ,smile,handshake,nod


• 2. graphic language : Graphical language includes

various elements such as contours and

lines ,images ,numbers and symbols and their attributes

such as movement ,spatial location,color or contrast ,and

size.

• Examples : GDI ,directx, quickdraw,display PDF and

openGL

• Formal communication

• “communication that takes place within rescribed


organizational work arrangements.”
• For example : manager asks his / her Employee to do a task.
• Informal communication
• Informal communications include speaking to a person

about the weather ,writing an email about your holidays,

sending a birthday card or taking to someone at the grocery

shop.


• Horizontal communication

• Horizontal communication ,also called lateral


communication is the practice of sharing information
between employees , departments and units within
the same level of an organization.

• Vertical communication :
• Vertical communication is flows up and down the
organization, usually along the chain of command or
formal reporting lines ; it takes place between
managers and their superiors and subordinates .

• Types of vertical communication :-


• Upward Communication
• Upward communication is the flow of information
from lower-level employers to upper – level
employers to upper-level employees.

• Upward communication is important because it


provides higher management with the information
needed for decision making.
• Communication is a very important part of
working in the business enviroment.

2.Downward communication

• Downward communication : formal


communication consists of messages sent from
superiors to subordinates.
• Instruction or directions concerning job
performance.

• Information about organizational procedures


and policies.

• Feedback to the subordinates concerning job


performance.
• Information to assist in of work tasks.
Diagonal communication :
• Diagonal communication takes place at different level
in hierarchy.
• It occurs both ways ,that is, form the upper level and
vica versa.
• The path ismixture of vertical and horizontal movement.
• Internal communication

• This is one of the application type of


communication which takes place
internally on the basis of its usage.
• The communication as the title of
it,denotes internal transmission within
industry , all are internal discussion ,
transmissions.

• In such communication , most of passing


information levels of informal type

• Internal communication is the function


responsible for effective communication.
