CHAPTER 1: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The community service report shall have only a one-page executive summary. It shall
include a brief description of the Community and summary of all the activities done by
the student in CSP and five or more learning objectives and outcomes.

Firstly we visit the "Basapuram" village with the officers. The officers explained in detail about

how the water will be filtrated and how the water sent to the adoni pump house. Next,we visit

the Adoni municipality for to ask how the water distributed to the areas & each and every one

house. Then,we meet with the street peoples for to ask about the problems facing in that area

we conclude that water problems occurs suddenly so,we have to save the water for future for
purpose and we have to think about the future.

Learning Objectives:

1) The role of a drinking water Supplier is to provide adequate water for the community.

2) To prevent / mitigate risk of water contamination elements / points of water supply system

such as source,treatment and distribution.

3) To Supply safe water to the consumers.

4) To supply water in adequate quantity.

Learning Outcomes:-

1) Don't waste water unnecessary.

2) We have to save the water for future generation.

3) Failing to Conserve water, it may danger to future generations for their lives.

4) We have to understand how to use a minimum water.

5) water problems may not occurs if we conserve the water.

CHAPTER 2: OVERVIEW OF THE COMMUNITY
• About the Community/Village/Habitation including historical profile of the
community/habitation, community diversity, traditions, ethics and values.
• Brief note on Socio-Economic conditions of the Community/Habitation.

Challenges and problems in water facility and drinking water supply are generally more

complex and daunting in poorer countries which are at the same time typically less well
equipped (both financially and with technical and policy expertise)to deal with the hardly

or complexity.Industrial develop nations typically have established drinking water supply

in- frastructure for all except some rural areas and small community supplies.

If a rural drinking water supply system as to be retrofitted to meet the demands of water

for live stock and kitchen garden, then it has to be done in such a way that the retrofitted

system takes water to the backyards of a dwellings. In order to these issue we exposing

the problems which had been suffering from water and management of water system.
In view of these all problems, which are facing by the 'urban and rural' people on water

facility & drinking water availability. we find a procedure to solve these major issue, and

submitted report which was raised by 'society' people. And also conducted a survey on
this title.
CHAPTER 3: COMMUNITY SERVICE PART
Description of the Activities undertaken in the Community during the Community
Service Project. This part could end by reflecting on what kind of values, life skills, and
technical skills the student acquired.

While everyone recognizes that water is "essential to all life",it is often taken for granted, atleast

by those who have easy and affordable access to a safe and abundant result,it is frequently for

misused, poluted or wasted.Giving "value" to water is way to better recognize its importance to

us an individuals, but also to societies and the environment from which it comes and to which it

ultimately returns. But what does value mean in this context? what is water "worth" ?These are

the main question addressed, in the 2021 edition of the united nation world water development

report (WWDR 2021). The current status of water resources highlights that needs for improved

water resources management. Recognizing / measuring and expressing water's worth, & inco-

oporating it into decision making are fundamental to achieving sustainable and equitable water

resources managements and the sustainable development goals of the united nations 2030 of

for sustainable development water conservation and management emphasize, water quality of

the protection, growing area of employment and environment concern, and it encompasses the

policies, strategies and activities made to manage water as sustainable resource to protect the

water environment, and to meet current and future human demand.

tank is rectangular. North direction has length and width of 450m,south 500m,east 1150 and

west 1250m. the water from the canal is discharged into a borehole, the water is sent to the

tank through 600 mm dia-meters pipes by motors. the area of the SS tank is about 200 acrs

It takes about 3 months to fill the tank completely.

A circular wall is constructed in the tank and a 600 mm dm

pipe is fixed to the circular wall.S.Satyanarayana sir (officer of water dept)who was an officer

in 2006.it takes 3 months to fill a tank with a 3 motors so Satyanarayana sir advised the govt

to keep 5 motors in the tank.by keeping the 5 motors the SS tank will completely full in just 21

1) What you done to improve the drinking water purification quality ?

2) Are you satisfied with the quality of drinking water ?

3)How much do you spend on mineral drinking water per week ?

4) Are you know about where does your drinking water come from ?

5)Do you trust the safety of drinking water ?

6)Do you have any problem with your tap water quality ?

7) When you have problems with drinking water, how do you solve these problems?

8)Do you pay attention to the water pollution events reported on tv or in the news paper ?

9) What type of health issues can be releated to water quality ?

10)How do you know about that the water in your home safe to drink ?

11) How do germs and chemicals get into your drinking water ?

12) How do you filterd water at your home ?

13) What is the frequency of water supply in your area per week ?

14) Where do you found the move supply of water in your area ?
Describe the problems you have identified in the community

The problems i have observed in that region are:-

1)In that region the drinking water purification facilities is less.

2)The water is polluted in water tanks.

3)There is less bore wells in that region.

4)The municipal water taps are very long distance for that region.

5)If some time the water supply stoped.

6)The supply of water is not sufficient for the community.

7)Due to less purification facilities the people suffering from diseases like Diarrhea,Cholera,

Typhoid,Amoebiasis,Hepatitis,Polio.

9)In summer ther is less supply of water to the houses in that area.

10)Some time the water supply may get 4 to 5 days once for that area.

11)Some time the water colour may get yellowish due to mixing of more liqids like chlorine.

12)In the area the last houses may not get the sufficient water.
Short-term and long term action plan for possible solutions for the problems
identified and that could be recommended to the concerned authorities for
implementation.

According to the information that i have collected the people satisfied with the availabity of

water facilities and drinking water availability at there locality, but we suggested a people to

improve the purification of drinking water methods.

Here, are some of the most effective water purification methods that have stood test of time

*Boiling, water purifier, reverse osmosis, water chlorination, distillation, iodine addition, solar

purification,clay vessel filtration,uv radiation,desalination.

1)Boiling:- The simplest method to purify the water is to boils it for a good time. High the
temperature causes the bacteria and virus to disipate, remove all impurities from the water.

2)Water purification:- An electric water purifier is the most trusted from of water purific-
ation found in most houses today.

3)Water chlorination:- It is an older technique used usually during an emergency, where

a mild bleach with approx 5% chlorine is added to the water.

4)Iodine addition:- Iodine is a red chemical that is easily available as a tablet or a liquid
it is extremely powerful as it kills bacteria and viruses.

5)Desalination:- Water with a certain level of salination needs filtered.

Description of the Community awareness programme/s conducted w.r.t the
problems and their outcomes.

Access to safe drinking water is important as a health and development issue at national, a

regional and local levels,so, we observed in that regions drinking water purification facilities

is less. the supply of the water is not sufficient for the people. This leads to the people suffer

from diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, typhoid, amoebiasis, hepatitis, polio,so we suggest to

the peoples who are facing the problems , improve the purification of drinking water method

like boiling, water purifier, distillation, solar purification, so water is at the core of sustainable

development and is critical for socio economic development, energy and food production,to

healthy eco system and for human survival itself.

Outcomes:-
* The NRDWP is a centrally sponsered scheme aimed to improving the coverage of adeq-

uate and safe drinking water to the rural population of the country.

* Environmental impacts of swatch bharath mission (rural) programs gives people access

to the clean drinking water.

* Jal jeevan mission is envisioned to provide safe and adequte drinking water through the

the individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural india.
