B. Stablishing Lesson Purpose

1. Lesson Purpose
In our previous topic, we discussed reading and writing whole numbers up
to 1,000 and determining a digit’s place value and value in a given
number. These topics are related to our next one.
2. Unlocking Content Area Vocabulary
 Comparing numbers – Determined if a number is Less Than, Greater Than
or Equal to another based on their values. The symbols used to compare
numbers are < for Less Than , > for Greater Than , = for Equal.
C. Developing and Deepening
Understanding

1. Explicitation
 Who among you loves fruits?
 What is your favorite fruit and why?
