A piece of string, 20cm long is divided into two pieces
in the ratio 3:2. What is the length of each of the two
pieces of string?
Ratio: 3:2
# of parts = 3 + 2 = 5
Length of each part = 20/5 = 4cm
Length of the longer piece = 4 x 3parts = 12 cm
Length of the shorter piece = 4cm x 2 parts = 8 cm
