researching human behavior. In quantitative research, statistical data are used to identify
patterns and cause-and-effect relationships between variables. The test begins with
observation, generation, and the use of statistical tests such as correlations and T-tests to
identify the differences in the relationships. The main part of the statistical analysis is to
make an accurate prediction. The targeting relationship and difference in the data can be
estimated by the correlation and t-test.
Quantitative research has a big relationship of sampling methods with it in order to get the
generalizable results. For instance, stratified and random sampling can be utilized to collect
perfect samples, however, where convenience and purposive sampling are used as demand.
The generated data is examined by the response statistics, descriptive statistics for summaries
and inferential statistics for drawing the conclusions.
Contrary to this, the qualitative approach concentrates on the profound understanding of
human behavior through the subjective, non-numerical data. Methodologies such as
interviews, focus groups, and the sharing of personal experiences are often the tools used for
this purpose. The generalization of results is the main function of the quantitative type of
research, while the qualitive one seeks to explore the individual perspectives and their
environments. Thematic analysis is widely accepted to be a valuable tool for the extraction of
the themes in the qualitative data.
In qualitative research, practitioners mostly use purposive sampling methods to pick the
members who have peculiar knowledge or experiences. The way in which the data is
analyzed involves coding the responses and identifying the themes. Feasibility of qualitative
research is ensured by checking on aspects like credibility, transferability, dependability, and
confirmability. Credibility is augmented when researchers are honest and transparent in their
interpretations.
When it comes to understanding human behavior, quantitative and qualitative methods are
equally important. Quantitative research is able to give a comprehensive overview using
statistical analysis, while qualitative research can provide a detailed explanation into the
individual experiences and contexts. The collaboration of these methods will tell us a truer
story of human behavior, thus, we can get insights that are not reachable by one approach
alone. This correlation underscores the necessity to make use of various research methods to
study the multiple aspects of human behavior and interaction.
A lot of this will make as more advantageous in making our resea. That’s why we need to
study more of this to make us contribute more in our society. Thus making a research about a
certain topic will not only help us but also to other future people research problems. I thank
you.
