Slide Show – It is a sequential display of slides, which is shown to the audience with an
objective of providing information and exchanging ideas/views on a particular topic.
Q2. Write any five points to keep in mind for designing effective presentation.
Ans. Points to keep in mind while designing a presentation are:
a. Number of lines: On one page or slide try to include 5 to 8 lines.
b. Font-size: While preparing the presentation, you need to take care of the room size,
distance between the screen and the audience
c. Correct use of grammar and language: The grammar and language should be correct in
your presentation.
d. Inserting images, drawings, tables or graphs: Try to avoid inserting more than two
graphics (images, drawings, tables or charts) in any slide. Inserting too many graphics
becomes confusing for the audience
e. Use of colours: Try to use dark colours, bold letters with different fonts to highlight
certain points.
f. Animation and videos: Do not include more than one animation or video in one slide..
g. Pay attention to target group: While creating the presentation, give attention to meet
the requirements of the target audience.
Q3-What are the advantages of using a presentation
Ans-Presentations make it easier to engage your audience. Striking images can hold an
audience's attention, while clear bullet points or summary text helps the audience follows
the logic of a presentation.
Q4-What objects can be added to presentation
Impress offers the capability of inserting in a slide various types of objects such as music ,sound
or video clips, Writer documents, Math formulas, Tables,Charts and Shapes.

a. Select Title and Content layout of the slide.
b. Click on Table icon on slide and specify number of rows and columns.
c. Click on OK.
Slide transitions are the effects that take place between slides when slides change in a
presentation. Transitions can add a professional look to a slide show, smoothing the change
over between slides. Transitions can be applied to individual slides or all the slides in a
presentation.
Adding transitions
1. In the Sidebar, select the Slide Transition icon to open the Slide Transition section
2. In the Slides Pane select the slide or slides to apply the transition
3. Modify the selected transition by changing the speed or adding a sound,
4. If a sound is selected, the Loop until next sound option becomes active. Select this
option to play the sound repeatedly until another sound starts. If there are no subsequent
sounds in your slide show, the selected sound will play continuously for the remainder of
the show.
5. Select how to advance to the next slide: manually (On mouse click)
or automatically (Automatically after). If you select an automatic advance, you can
specify how long the slide remains visible before it automatically advances to the next
slide.
6. If you want the transition to apply to all slides, click Apply to All Slides.
Removing transitions
To remove a slide transition:
1. Select the slides from where you want to remove the transitions.
2. Select None transition in the Slide Transition pane.
Slide animations are applied to individual elements in a single slide: title, chart, shape, or
individual bullet point. Animation effects are applied from Normal view so that you can select
individual objects on a single slide
Applying animation effects
1. Select the slide and the object (text box, image) you want to apply the animation effect
to.
2. In the Sidebar, select Custom Animation icon to open the Custom Animation
section.
3. Click Add to open the Custom Animation dialog and Select the animation effect
4. As you add animation to objects they appear on the Custom Animation list in the
Sidebar.
5. In the Effect Plus section you can set how the animation will start
• On click − the animation does not start until you click the mouse.
• With previous − the animation runs at the same time as the previous animation.
• After previous − the animation runs as soon as the previous animation ends.
Select the Duration of the animation effect from the Speed drop down list.
If required, select Automatic preview so you can check the animation effect on the object.
