What is the Wix Funnel?

● Wix Funnel refers to the first steps the user will be taken on, as
they begin to create the new site.
● Creating a website with Wix is easy once a user signs up -- they
will automatically be taken through the Wix Funnel.
● The Funnel enables us to understand and identify the users
needs and guide them towards the right type of site for their
business.

Dashboards Course
● We will present the funnel and flow in the next video.
Wix Funnel: Account Creation

To begin the process, first need to sign up to Wix from the Sign up screen.

Dashboards Course
Wix Funnel: Site Creation
Once they create their account, they’ll be prompted to create their first site.
Questions it will ask are:
1. Who do you want to create a site for?
○ Whether it is personal use or for a
client.
2. Have you created a website before?
○ Highlights how experienced the
user are with making sites.
3. What kind of website do you need?
○ Identify the type of site the user
wants to create (e.g. portfolio or

Dashboards Course
online store)
4. What would you like on your website?
○ Any additional features a user
would like to add to their site.
Wix Funnel: Site Creation
Depending on the answers to the question, users will be prompted with the
most relevant options for them to build their sites on.
In this example, it will show a split screen of Wix Editor and Editor X platforms.

Dashboards Course
Wix Funnel: Site Creation
What is the difference between the two?

Wix Editor Editor X

Dashboards Course
Note: We’ll review more about both of these builders in the next courses.
Wix Funnel: Site Creation
When the user selects the Wix Editor, this leads them to the Templates Page
where they’ll choose one for their site.

➔ The Templates Page

displays all of the Editor
templates available in
different categories.

➔ Users can browse by

selecting a specific
category, using the search
bar or even just picking any

one they like.

➔ There are over 800

professionally designed
templates!
Wix Funnel: Site Creation
Sometimes users are overwhelmed choosing the right one for them and will reach
out to us for help. As the Expert, you can guide users on making a choice.

When you hover over each template,

you can:

1. Edit - get started and customize

the website anyway they want.
2. View - great way to view the

Wix Funnel: Site Creation
Once they have chosen their template, they will be directed to the Editor. The site
dashboard is automatically created after a template has been chosen.

Site Dashboard Components

There are 3 Primary Components

of the Site Dashboard:
a. Wix Header
b. Business Manager
c. Site Setup & Helpful Tips

Let’s review each one in the

Dashboards Course
following slides
Site Dashboard: Header Components
We’ll begin with the Site Header Menu.

1. My Sites will bring users to a page that

shows all the sites they have in their
account (which we’ll review more about
in the next video)

2. Partner Dashboard is available only to

users who own 4+ premium sites in their

Dashboards Course
account. Clicking on this will navigate
them to the Partner Dashboard.
Site Dashboard: Header Components
We’ll continue with the Site Header Menu.

3. Explore leads to Updates & Releases,

and Inspiring Websites - check it out. It’s
amazing to see what our users create.

4. Help opens a search function for Help

Center articles, direct access to the
Help Center, a list of featured articles

Dashboards Course
and easy access to other help topics.

5. The search engine helps search for

tools, apps and help center articles.
Site Dashboard: Header Components
We’ll continue with the Site Header
Menu.

6. The Inbox which is the small icon here

provides a quick view and access to
messages that users receive through
their sites as well as chat conversations
with visitors.
They can mark all messages as read or

Dashboards Course
click into a message and manage the
inbox directly on that site’s dashboard.
Site Dashboard: Header Components
We’ll continue with the Site Header Menu.

7. The Notification bell displays updates that don’t appear in the Inbox like when an invoice is
overdue or a new member has joined the site. Notifications can be marked as read and
managed in the Notifications settings page.
8. Lastly, in the top right you can view a person’s Profile Image and Profile name or Username.

Dashboards Course
Site Dashboard: Header Components

To reach a site’s dashboard, users need to

select the website they want to access. And
voila, we are in that site’s Dashboard.

Just a reminder - for users with one

website, they will automatically land in the

Dashboards Course
Site Dashboard when they login into Wix.
Site Dashboard: Header Components
Here users can view the site’s name and
their role which in this example is owner.

Below, they can view the site’s setup

progress which works with the Omni Setup
Widget that is featured here on the page
under “Let’s set up your website”.

Dashboards Course
Now you’ll see a small image of the users
homepage and a button with a drop down
menu called Site Actions. There’s many
things that can be done from here
Site Dashboard: Header Components
➔ The Site Dashboard also allows users
to view and manage the Analytics
widget .

➔ What is a widget?

➔ Widgets provide you with quick

access to information without

Dashboards Course
requiring you to open the app that
manages this information.

➔ This widgets is split into two parts:

Site Dashboard: Header Components
● Site Analytics - gives a brief overview of
how sites visitors engage with a users
website. Users can customize what type
of analytics they want to see, such as blog
post views, total revenue, and more.

● The bottom part of the widget is the

support section- this is where users can

Dashboards Course
quickly access the help center or get help
from a professional in the Wix
Marketplace
Site Dashboard: Business Manager
The last component we’ll look at is the left side menu
called the Business Manager ->

As we mentioned before from here users can see the

Dashboard homepage, Set up progress, and any
verticals the site has.

The term Vertical refers to any applications or business

solutions that are loaded on the site. AN example of a

Dashboards Course
vertical can be Wix Stores, or Wix Blog. For example,
this site has Wix Stores so they can manage Orders,
and Store Products from the Business Manager.
Site Dashboard: Business Manager
Lower down on the Business Manager you can find
more verticals that deal with site and customer
management.
1. Contacts - allows users to manage their contact
list, site member list, and set up workflows or tasks
for their business

2. Communications - this is where users can

Dashboards Course
manage their communication with site visitors. This
includes the Wix Inbox, Form & Submissions, Chat,
Business Number
Site Dashboard: Business Manager
3. Automations - Users can set up automations to help
streamline their work process and save time on manual
tasks.

4. Marketing & SEO - users can use our marketing tools to

help grow their online presence.

5. Analytics & Reports - allows users to see how site

visitors engage with their site and get the insights they

Dashboards Course
need to optimize.

6. In Finances - users can manage payments, invoices and

get an overview of transactions made on their website.
Site Dashboard: Business Manager
7. Channels - this is where users can manage external
channels of their site, including Branded App, Facebook
Shop, etc.

8. Settings - is where they set up additional info about their

business, manage notifications, and more.

9. Apps -is the go to place to browse all available apps by

Wix and 3rd parties like Wix stores, bookings and more.

Dashboards Course
10. Content Manager - lets users efficiently manage a data
collection and other site content.

11. Developer tools - is where users can find advanced tools

like Secrets manager, logs, and triggered emails.

Get Feedback: It’s a great tool for users to get, well, feedback through
comments from clients, teams or anyone they want.

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Preview/View Live site
View Live Site takes users to their live site so they can really
feel and test their visitors' experience.
➔ If their site is not published, they can preview their site
instead.

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Renaming Site
Renaming a site can be useful if a business name changes or if
users are working on different versions of a site and want to
name them accordingly.

Rename Site allows you to edit:

➔ Site Name
➔ Title on Browser tab ( which
links to the Editor)
➔ And Site Address - The
standard Wix URL

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Renaming Site

Here are some things you need to know about changing a site name:

➔ By default, the site name appears in the browser tab of the home page.
➔ It can have a maximum of 20 characters.
➔ There can be NO spaces, non-Latin characters, symbols or emojis.
➔ AND You can change the title that appears in the browser tab like you see
here in this example:

Dashboards Course
Just follow the step-by-step instructions in this help center article:
Changing the Title in the Browser Tab (we will also cover it later in training).
Site Actions Drop Down: Duplicate Site
Duplicate Site: Sometimes users want to save a copy of their site as a specific
version or they want to experiment with features while leaving their original site
untouched.

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Duplicate Site
Keep in mind:
While the site's design and content are copied,
note that not all business related content is
duplicated.

For example:
● Store products are duplicated but not store
orders.
● Contacts are not duplicated.
● Invoices are not duplicated.

Dashboards Course
● Third party apps are duplicated but some
settings may not be.
Site Actions Drop Down: Transfer Site
Transfer Site: is when ownership is transferred to someone else so they can
manage it. This is common for Wix Partners who transfer a site to a client after
it’s built.

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Transfer Site
When transferring a Premium Wix site, the contents of the site are transferred
along with any Premium services.

Let’s spend a moment looking at important cases and details you should know
for users who want to transfer ownership:

1. When paid subscriptions are transferred like a Premium Plan:

○ premium apps or a domain along with the site, all future payments are
managed by the new owner.

Dashboards Course
2. When a site is transferred, so is the ownership.
○ For users that want to remain the owner, but give access to someone
else - say a Designer - they can invite people to their site.
Site Actions Drop Down: Transfer Site
3. Site Media: When users transfer a site their uploads, like images and
videos appear on the live site and are stored in the Media Manager of the
new account.

4. Contact List: All site contacts, for example customers and subscribers,
transfer to the new account and are removed from the old.

5. Site Members: Users with members-only pages, the site members transfer
to the new account and are removed from the old.

Dashboards Course
6. Wix Email Marketing campaigns transfer to the new account AND remain
in the old.

7. And finally, for users that transfer a Wix Stores site - all products,
collections and settings are transferred to the new account
Site Actions Drop Down: Transfer Site
So how does transferring work?

➔ When a user starts the process, the

recipient receives an invite email and they
must confirm the transfer plus follow the
steps to accept ownership.

➔ Here you can see a screenshot taken from

the site owner account while the site
transfer is pending.

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Invite People
Invite People: Don’t want to transfer? Instead, have other people help them out
by inviting them as Site contributors.
➔ Users can assign different roles and permissions based
on their need.

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Move to Trash
Move to Trash:

When users choose to move the site to trash a

pop-up will appear to confirm if they really want to
move their site to trash.

Once confirmed, the site appears in the Trash folder.

You will be able to see these sites in the Deleted
Sites list in the User Manager.

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Move to Trash
You’re probably wondering...if a site is in a Trash
folder, is it really gone - deleted forever?

Well, no. Users have a choice.

From Trash, they can remove the site completely or

Restore the site back to the All Sites list.

Keep in mind - If a user removes a site from the Trash

they won’t be able to get it back without contacting
Wix Customer Care.

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Move to Trash
As the Expert, you’re able to restore a user’s site
removed from the trash through the User Manager.

Here’s how:
1. Access the relevant UM

2. Click on Deleted Sites

3. Hover over the relevant site

4. You’ll see the Restore Site action.

Dashboards Course
Site Actions Drop Down: Move to Trash -
Exceptions
There are certain exceptions to Restoring a
Site this way.

So always check:

1. User Manager Notes from specialized

teams, such as Legal and Risk.
Sometimes a site was deleted for a
reason.

2. In these cases, you won’t be able to

Dashboards Course
restore at the user’s request. What you
can do is escalate to the dedicated
team for further review.
