Revised Programme of Action 1992: Dr.Sandip Deb

Before considering the suggestions of the Ramamurthy Committee, the govt appointed another Committee beneath
the place of Janardan Reddy in 1992.

The report of the Committee provided a Base for the changed National Policy on Education and a concrete
programme emerged as Programme of Action, 1992 (POA 1992).

HRD minister Sh. Arjun Singh given the REVISED NATIONAL POLICY ON EDUCATION within the parliament
on might 1992.

Poa 1992 beneath NPE 1986 visualised to conduct of a Common test on All Republic of India basis for admission to
skilled and technical programs in the country.

Objectives Of Poa

Education should play a positive and interventionist role in correcting social and regional imbalance, empowering

4. EDUCATION FOR SCHEDULED CASTE: Includes effort of scheduled cast population with others in matter of

introduced.

5. FEMALE EDUCATION: New Education Policy gave special stress to ladies Education. This statement owes that

6. EDUCATION FOR TRIBES: This policy gave main stress to the education of tribes. Residential Ashram

Schemes, i.e., (i) theme of space Intensive Programme for Educationally Backward Minorities . (ii)Scheme of
economic help for Modernization of madrasah Education were launched throughout 1993-94.

9. Education for Minorities: Under the theme per cent help is given for: (i)institution of recent primary and higher
primary faculties, non-formal education centres, where necessary.

(ii) Strengthening of educational infrastructure and physical facilities within the primary and higher primary schools;
and

(iii) gap of multi-stream residential higher secondary faculties for women happiness to the educationally backward
minorities.
