The graph below shows average carbon dioxide emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden

Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007. Summarise the information
The line graph presents the production of carbon dioxide gases per capita in four countries-United
Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal-from 1967 to 2007, measured in metric tonnes.

Overall, the United Kingdom was the highest producer of CO2 throughout the 40-year period,
although it experienced a gradual reduction in emissions. Sweden, initially the second-highest
emitter in 1967, experienced noticeable fluctuations in its CO2 levels over the period. In contrast,
Italy and Portugal exhibited a steady upward trajectory in CO2 emissions throughout this period.

In 1967, the United Kingdom emitted approximately 11 metric tonnes of CO2 per person. This figure
decreased gradually to about 8.5 metric tonnes by 2007. In contrast, Sweden’s CO2 emissions, which
began slightly above 8 metric tonnes in 1967, surged dramatically to just over 10 metric tonnes in
early 1977 before falling sharply to just below 6 metric tonnes by the end of the period.

On the other hand, both Italy and Portugal showed a consistent increase in CO2 emissions. Italy’s
CO2 level rose steadily from about 4 metric tonnes in 1967 to nearly 8 metric tonnes by 2007,
overtaking Sweden in the mid-1980s. Portugal, starting with the lowest emissions at approximately
1.5 metric tonnes in 1967, also experienced a steady rise, reaching nearly 6 metric tonnes by the end
of the period.

In summary, while both the United Kingdom and Sweden experienced an overall decrease in CO2
emissions, Italy and Portugal displayed a contrasting trend, with their emissions rising progressively
over the 40 years.

The most important aim of science should be to improve people’s lives

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement.

The debate over science

Science explains many things about phenomenon that we do not understand. For over decade,
there are amount of discoveries ease our daily. This reason makes science substantial for people. I
believe that the purpose of science must be for the sake of development of lives as it helps various
aspect such as health and technology.

First and foremost, science facilitates human to understand their bodies. It brings a lot of easiness
for scientist to comprehend how viruses attack human’s antibody. As a result, this method will
help discoveries of antibiotics or vaccines. Moreover, recent research is developing the cure of
cancer. As long as we know, cancer is the terminal illness that hard to be healed. It needs various
medication and therapy such as chemotherapy and radiation. By science, it helps researcher to find
the method that will cure cancer effectively. So, it will save million people lives.

Furthermore, it can be said that historically science save us from darkness. Thomas Alfa Edison
needed 1001 experiments to discover a bulb. Then the technology develops until we have
computer and also the most sophisticated tools, which is AI that works like second brain of human.
Nowadays, people can transport crossing the continent within hours by plane. Previously, they
migrated by shape which took months even years. However, there are destructive side of further
study of science without ethics. For instance, making of nuclear bom or biological weapons to
reduce the number of populations for the sake of political interest.

In conclusion, the goal of development of science needs to be balancing with moral value. The
improvement must give positive side to human being.

In many countries around the world, rural people are moving to the cities so the population in the
countryside is decreasing

Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

1. Org2 akan ke kota

Many nations are facing urbanization issues, causing various problem for society. People tend to
move to urban areas for financial and educational opportunities. Consequently, while the rural
population will decline, the urbans will grow. I strongly agree this action will lead to negative
development such as creating slump area, traffic issue, and lack of resources.

First and foremost, the imbalance of facility in countryside makes people leave their hometown to
get more opportunities. For instance, many young adults go to big city to pursuit a higher
education because there is no university in their hometown. When they graduated, they also will
look for job opportunities in metropolitan area. Moreover, businessman also wants to develop
their franchise in crowded area for higher amount of customer. This means, as times by,
urbanization rate will growth rapidly. This action will cause overcrowding, traffic congestion and
insufficient resources.

Furthermore, overcrowding and insufficient resource will trigger emerging of slump area as there
are not enough room for housing. It affects the urban planning of these area such as plumbing and
electricity system, and green space for recreational purpose. The unsatisfaction system can give
disadvantages for quality of people lives as it makes them difficult to access water or other
facilities. Additionally, traffic congestion will happen, since many people commute to their office at
the same time. So, people will lack of time to rest and sleep, then causing a decrease in their
health. As a result, government needs to provide more public transportation or elevated road to
accommodate this issue.

In conclusion, the urbanization needs to be regulated for authority. Since, it will give disadvantage
for society.
