Activity 2:
Instructions. Reflect and answer the following questions as per your own observation:
Question 1. What are the problems of Philippine government institutions?
- There are many problems in the Philippine government institutions, these are
corruption within the institutions from local government to the executive branch of
government. Besides this, political dynasties are also one of the problems in the
philippine government.
Question 2. How did these problems arise?
- Corruption arises when the one in charge abuses their power; bribery, extortion,
fraud, cartels, abuse of power, embezzlement, and money laundering are the
other reasons why corruption arises, and these are usually done in secret that is
why some leaders are still in charge. Nepotism is the main cause of political
dynasties, when one of the family is in politics, another family member also runs
because they are related to that said family member.
Question 3. How should we deal with these problems?
- This can be dealt with by electing and voting the rightful leaders, the one with a
good background. By electing critically the rightful leaders, the Philippine
government will have no corruption. Moreover when the one in charge in the
government is the one that fights corruption, then this can be reduced and dealt
with. Political dynasties can be dealt with by simply not voting related to that
same family, but it depends if the opposition candidate is capable and have a
good background.
