Instructions for Class Presentation- 10 Marks

Topic and News Article Selection:

Select one topic from the provided list, "Topics for Class Presentation," focusing on the
area of news analysis.
Choose a relevant and credible news article that best represents the topic. Make sure the
news article is recent, ideally published after June 2022. If necessary, older articles
may be included for background context, but the emphasis should be on recent
developments.
Frame a title that captures the essence of the topic and highlights your analysis of the
news article.

Content and Structure:

The presentation should critically analyze the chosen news article, incorporating:

Past: A brief background or historical perspective relevant to the topic.

Present: The current state of the topic, reflecting recent developments from the
article.
Future: Your analysis of potential future implications based on the current
trends.

Ensure the presentation is detailed and well-cited, with references to credible and valid
sources only. All news articles referenced should include the publication date.
Utilize logical reasoning and analytical skills to present the news article in a manner that
reflects a deep understanding of the topic.
Define key technical terms and highlight their relevance to the topic, as they may come
up in the follow-up Q&A session (Viva).

Presentation Style and Time Management:

The entire presentation should be delivered within a strict 25-minute time frame. Be
concise and manage your time efficiently, as you will not be allowed to continue past
this limit.
Dress in formal attire as this is a business school-style presentation.
Use presentation media tools effectively to enhance the delivery, if necessary.
Avoid reading directly from notes, laptops, or mobile devices. You may refer to a small
note for guidance, but do not read from a script. Negative marking will apply if this
rule is violated.

Format and Slides:

Title Slide: Include the topic title, your full name, BG number, class, and section.
Content Slides: Structure these slides in alignment with the past, present, and future
aspects of your analysis
Reference Slide: Properly cite all news sources and any additional references used.
Grading Rubric:
The presentation is worth 10 marks in total:

5 marks for content and presentation quality, including the use of credible
sources, adherence to time limits, and effective delivery.
5 marks for the depth of knowledge demonstrated in the Viva, including an
understanding of technical terms and their relevance to the topic.

Additional Notes:
Attendance on the presentation day is compulsory. If you are absent, you will only be
marked based on your PPT contribution, as there will not be a second Viva session.
The Viva session will test your understanding of the topic, so be prepared to discuss it
without reliance on your notes.
The marks for the PPT remains same for all the group members but VIVA marks
could differ. Make sure you proofread the slide once prepared as it’s a group
marking.
