TOPIC : THE INFLUENCE OF FINANCIAL STATEMENT INFORMATION
ON MANAGERIAL INVESTMENT DECISION MAKING IN SMEs in
Douala.
DEGREE : Professional Masters, in Banking and Finance.
In Cameroon, financial statement information and managerial decision investment are
very cruetial for the objectives and growth of many SMEs. Thus, this study examines the influences of
these financial statement information on managerial investment decision making in small and medium
size enterprises in Douala. This research by TONFACK DJIOPE BRITNEY LYNSCHES examine
how managerial investment decision making, our dependeent variable, is being influence by the
components of financial statements which include; balance sheet, income statement, csah flow and
statement of changes on examines functioning of SMEs. Also, this study aims to uncover the
significant reletionship between these variables, providing valuable insights into encouraging
managerial decision making on the crutial role of financial staement inforlmation in SMEs regarding
their performance.
The primary objective of this research is to evaluate how variuos financial statement formation
influences managerial ivestment decisions making through the use of questionaires for effective
performance and profitability, identifying challenges in the implementation of these processes, and
providing recommendations for improvement. A regression method was used, combining quantitative
surveys from head of departments and assistants, from selected SMEs in Douala.
Key findings reveal a positive correlation between the independent and dependent variables of these
selected SMEs in Douala dealing in civil engineering, manufaction of goods and provision of services,
as well as the sales of different equipement types. Investment decision making, if well analysed by the
various agents accountant and auditors, processes enhance conveniency and reliability, leading to
higher levels of profits and increased customer retention.the Effective and well define financial
statement information also help manage operational costs, boosting overall profitability. However,
challenges such as inadequate accounting system and records, inadequate storage facilities, and lack of
efficient inventory control systems hinder optimal SMEs performance. These insights underscore the
role of financial statement in managerial investment decission making management processes to
ensure the success and competitive advantage of SMEs in Douala.
