Science vs Technology

The closely entwined symbiotic relationship between technology and science has
(Donhauser, 2023)
propelled growth throughout history . Their mutual value is undeniable, and it

is hard to envision each one operating independently. Science provides the theoretical knowledge
(Ruzzante et al., 2021)
of natural events and the universe's guiding principles, acting as the basis .

Conversely, technology uses this scientific understanding to produce useful discoveries and
McDiarmid & Zhao (2023)
applications that raise our standard of living. According to , the

invention of the transistor, which was founded on a scientific understanding of semiconductor

behavior, integration of science and technology has produced many inventions and ground-

breaking discoveries that have revolutionized civilization.

Statistics highlight even further how science and technology are intertwined. The Segars

reports that the US spent more than $500 billion on research and development in 2019, a large

amount of which went directly toward advancing technology. Because of this mutually

reinforcing link, technical advancement propels scientific inquiry, while science offers the

infrastructure and instruments required for technological discovery. Collaboration between

science and technology has resulted in notable progress in energy, transportation, medicine, and

communication, demonstrating the unquestionable relationship between these two realms.
