Instructions
1. This paper consists of sections A, B and C with a total of eleven (11) questions.
2. Answer all questions in section A and B and two (2) questions from section C.
3. Section A carries sixteen (16) Marks, section B carries fifty four (54) Marks, and
section C carries thirty (30) marks.
4. Cellular phones and any unauthorized materials are not allowed in the
examination room.
5. Write your Examination Number on every page of your booklet(s).

SECTION A (16 Marks)
Answer all questions in this section.
1. For each of the items (i) –(x) choose the most correct answer from among the
given alternatives and write its letter beside the item number in the answer
booklet(s) provided.
(i) What is the correct simple present tense of "I have broken their door for
good reasons"

3. You are revising your form two notes and you come across with the types of
sentences. For each of the following sentences say whether the sentence is
simple, complex, compound or compound complex.
a) He married a beautiful wife and everybody was jealous of him but he was
still cheating on her.
b) I have accepted your offer, but I will come to your house when I finish
cooking the evening meal.
c) She has been ironing her clothes since morning.
d) The teacher finished the topic, but the students failed the test because they
did not understand the lesson.
e) Weisiko and Stella are getting married next week.
f) Although she had all the qualifications, she didn’t get the job.
g) We went for a trip but we did not enjoy.
h) They were eating when the power went off.
i) If you study hard, you will pass exams well, and I will buy you a laptop.

4. You are talking to your friend and he says these statements are in a likely
condition. Assuming that it is now impossible to be fulfilled because they are
purely hypothetical, how would you present these nine statements in conditional
type three in a single paragraph?
(1) If I met the president, I will tell him to work hard to stop corruption. (2) I believe
our problems will be solved if we address them. (3) if we keep quiet, the leaders
will not know our opinions. (4) I will not be discouraged if he does not take my
advice. (5) If we want a better Tanzania, we shall work hard to create it. (6)
Unless we stand together, we shall not live in the Tanzania of our dream. (7)
Again, unless we love our country, we‘ll not sacrifice our time and efforts to
develop it. (8) the last advice I will tell the president is the fact that, If he
accomplishes all the major projects, we will elect him again for the second term.
