WORSHIP The last few weeks we have been looking at a Biblical perspective of worship defining it, looking at what it looks like, etc. I think of extremely positive aspects of our relationship with God when worship comes to mind. But, what about the not so inspiring times? Listen to King David: How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? [Psalm 13.1-2] It is the aspect of worship in the midst of the most turmoil that draws the greatest honor to God. David, in the middle of his worship of God, questions even the mindset of God toward him. David is struggling with the circumstances around him. He is trying to figure out where God is during trials and persecution. Yet, even in his question he continues to worship. He is still God-centered, God-focused. He does not look at his enemy and worry if there is a godhe has already faced Goliath and had victory. He understands what it is to say, what is mere man. He knows this Almighty God that he serves. Therefore, worship spews forth, even when questions arise. How can I say this is so? How can we know? Look at verses 5-6: But I have trusted in your loving kindness; My heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord. Because he has dealt bountifully with me. David worships because of his faith in God, his knowledge of the salvation that God brings and the grace that God has bestowed upon him. We would do well to follow his example! In Christ, Pastor Matt

A huge thank you to everyone who helped in anyway with the concession stand and potato bar meal at the basketball games between Axtell and Wilcox-Hildreth! Thank you to those who provided food, helped serve and helped clean up. We had great teamwork! The potato bar meal alone made over $700.00 in profit. We do not know how much our concession stand made yet, but we definitely had a successful night of raising money for SWAT! Thanks to all!!!
