MY LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Touching people's hearts and opening childrens minds can bring delight and satistaction that neither
material possessions nor money cannot buy. This is one of the most significant assets a teacher can have
for the rest of his or her life.

Teaching is believed to be the noblest of all professions. Teachers have a tremendous influence on how
students think and behave. They act as a role model for young people and a source of information
where students can learn essential knowledge and skills for their future growth and contribute to the
advancement of the society to which they belong.

For me,teaching is a challenging task that necessitates a considerable amount of patience, effort, time,
and energy due to the diversity of learners with different learning styles. Because the diversity of
learners has become a significant issue among teachers today, future mentors must be well-equipped
with knowledge, abilities, and effective tactics in the teaching and learning process. Effectiveness and
the ability to overcome the challenges of teaching. And this is what Teaching internship provides with
the teaching experience to become efficient, effective, and competent teachers in the future.

As my Practice Teaching Internship term comes to a close, I've learned that it's not enough only to
educate, but also to be a bridge for generating a long-lasting impression on our students. We listen and
communicate information based on our experiences as a practice teacher, and we suggest that we
improve our interaction by sharing thoughts and opinions. That is the beauty of working collaboratively:
no one is left behind. Everything I witnessed and experienced during my internship was unforgettable.
Also, I'm glad that I learned so much from my CT for at least three months. I learned and discovered vital
factors such as students' moods, behavior, and character, as well as the teachers, and we must equalize
their qualities and make the instruction fair.

As a result, I realized that we teachers must be enthusiastic about feeding the curious and thirsty minds
of all students. More importantly, be flexible in terms of adapting and utilizing different theories and
strategies in classroom management. Teaching is a special calling for people who find satisfaction in
seeing others learn and progress. Educators believe that teaching can be a satisfying life work that I can
incorporate into my future teaching profession.

Week 1 Journal Entry

My first week as a student teacher has been both exhilarating and challenging. On Monday, I met my
mentor teacher, Ms. Johnson, and she welcomed me warmly into her 5th-grade classroom. The students
were curious about me, and I quickly learned their names and interests, which helped build rapport.
Observing Ms. Johnson's teaching methods and classroom management strategies gave me valuable
insights.

By midweek, I had the opportunity to lead a small group activity. I felt nervous but excited. The students
responded well, and it was rewarding to see their engagement. However, I realized I need to improve
my time management skills as the activity took longer than planned. I received constructive feedback
from Ms. Johnson, who suggested I simplify my instructions.

The week ended with me assisting in planning a lesson for next week. This experience has taught me the
importance of preparation and flexibility. Overall, it has been an enlightening week, and I am eager to
apply what I've learned and grow as an educator.

Week 2 Journal Entry

The second week of my student teaching experience has been both enlightening and challenging. On
Monday, I co-taught a lesson with my mentor teacher, Ms. Johnson. We focused on engaging the
students with interactive activities, and it was exciting to see their active participation. Some students
needed extra guidance, but overall, their enthusiasm was encouraging.

Midweek, I introduced a hands-on project. The students were highly engaged, and I enjoyed seeing their
creativity come to life. However, managing the distribution of materials was chaotic at times. Ms.
Johnson showed me how to organize the process more effectively for next time.

During a physical activity session on Thursday, I led a series of exercises and a simple game. Keeping the
students focused and ensuring they followed safety rules was a bit challenging, but I learned to give
clear, concise instructions. Ms. Johnson's advice on positioning myself strategically to monitor the
students was invaluable.
By the end of the week, we discussed an important topic that required careful explanation and
engagement. I used visual aids to make the lesson more interactive. The students were attentive and
asked insightful questions, showing their interest in the topic.

This week has taught me the importance of clear communication and effective classroom management
across various activities. I feel more confident in my teaching abilities and am eager to continue
developing my skills.

Week 3 Journal Entry

The third week of my student teaching journey has been incredibly rewarding and filled with new
experiences. On Monday, I took the lead in planning and delivering a lesson. I focused on incorporating
diverse teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles. The students responded positively, and I
felt a growing confidence in my ability to manage the classroom and engage the students.

Midweek, I encountered a challenge with a group activity. Some students had difficulty staying on task,
which disrupted the flow of the lesson. Ms. Johnson provided me with strategies to keep students
focused and suggested incorporating more structured roles within group work. Implementing her advice
in the next session made a noticeable difference.

During Thursday’s session, I led a discussion on an important topic and encouraged students to share
their thoughts. Their responses were insightful, and it was gratifying to see them thinking critically. This
experience highlighted the importance of fostering a classroom environment where students feel
comfortable expressing their ideas.

By the end of the week, I participated in a professional development workshop with the other teachers.
It was an excellent opportunity to learn new teaching techniques and network with colleagues. The
workshop emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adapting to new educational trends.

This week has reinforced my passion for teaching and provided me with valuable insights into classroom
management and student engagement. I am excited to apply these new strategies and continue growing
as an educator.
Week 4 Journal Entry

The fourth week of my student teaching experience has been a period of significant growth and
reflection. On Monday, I started the week by reviewing feedback from my mentor, Ms. Johnson, and
focused on improving specific areas of my teaching practice. This included refining my lesson plans and
incorporating more interactive elements to keep the students engaged.

Midweek, I faced a challenging situation with a student who was having difficulty following the lesson. I
took the opportunity to apply differentiated instruction techniques, providing additional support and
alternative resources to help the student grasp the concepts. It was rewarding to see the student's
progress and increased confidence by the end of the lesson.

Thursday was a milestone as I conducted my first full day of teaching independently. It was a demanding
but exhilarating experience. I managed the classroom effectively, kept the students engaged, and
ensured the lessons ran smoothly. Reflecting on this day, I realized the importance of flexibility and
being prepared to adjust my plans on the fly.

By the end of the week, I had a one-on-one meeting with Ms. Johnson to discuss my progress. She
highlighted areas where I had shown significant improvement and offered constructive feedback on
where I could continue to grow. This conversation was incredibly motivating and gave me clear goals to
work towards in the coming weeks.

This week has deepened my understanding of the teaching profession and reinforced my commitment
to continuous improvement. I am eager to take on new challenges and further develop my skills as an
educator.

Week 5 Journal Entry

The fifth week of my student teaching experience has been both demanding and deeply fulfilling. On
Monday, I started the week by introducing a new unit to the class. The preparation paid off as the
students were highly engaged and showed a lot of interest in the new material. This reaffirmed the
importance of thorough planning and understanding the students' interests.
Midweek, I had an opportunity to collaborate with another student teacher. We co-taught a lesson,
which was a great experience. Working together allowed us to share ideas and strategies, and the
students benefited from the diverse teaching styles. It also helped me see the value of teamwork and
peer support in the teaching profession.

Thursday presented a significant challenge when a few students were particularly disruptive during a
lesson. I implemented classroom management techniques I had learned, such as positive reinforcement
and setting clear expectations. While it was a tough situation, it provided a valuable learning experience
in maintaining control and ensuring a positive learning environment.

By the end of the week, I had to assess the students’ progress on the new unit. Creating and grading the
assessments was insightful, as it highlighted how different students understood the material in various
ways. It also made me realize the importance of diverse assessment methods to capture a complete
picture of student learning.

This week has been instrumental in building my resilience and adaptability as a teacher. I’ve learned that
each day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth. I’m excited to continue refining my
teaching practices and making a positive impact on my students’ learning journeys.

Week 6 Journal Entry

The sixth week of my student teaching experience has been a period of continued growth and reflection.
On Monday, I began with a lesson that incorporated technology, using interactive tools to enhance
student engagement. The students were excited to use tablets for the first time, and it was rewarding to
see how technology can be a powerful tool in education.

Midweek, I faced a challenge with a lesson that didn't go as planned. The students seemed confused,
and I had to quickly adapt my approach. This experience taught me the importance of being flexible and
ready to modify my teaching strategies on the spot. Ms. Johnson provided valuable feedback, helping
me identify areas for improvement.
Thursday was particularly insightful as I conducted a peer observation. Watching another experienced
teacher in action gave me new ideas for classroom management and instructional techniques. It was
beneficial to see different methods in practice and consider how I could incorporate them into my own
teaching.

By the end of the week, I facilitated a group project that encouraged collaboration among students. It
was encouraging to see them work together, share ideas, and solve problems collectively. This project
reinforced the importance of fostering a cooperative learning environment and the positive impact it
has on student engagement and learning.

This week has solidified my understanding of the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in
teaching. I’ve gained valuable insights from both successes and challenges, and I’m eager to apply these
lessons in the coming weeks. I look forward to further developing my skills and making a lasting impact

upcoming demo teaching session. On Monday, I met with my mentor, Ms. Johnson, to discuss my lesson
plan in detail. We reviewed the objectives, materials, and activities to ensure they aligned with the
curriculum standards and effectively engaged the students. Her feedback was invaluable in refining my
approach.

Midweek, I dedicated significant time to gathering and organizing all the necessary resources. I created
visual aids, interactive handouts, and a multimedia presentation to support my lesson. Practicing the use
of these tools helped me feel more confident and prepared. Additionally, I rehearsed the lesson multiple
times, both alone and in front of Ms. Johnson, who provided constructive feedback on my delivery and
pacing.

Thursday was spent fine-tuning the finer details of my lesson plan. I focused on anticipating potential
questions from students and planning my responses to ensure I could address their needs effectively. I
also considered different classroom management strategies to keep the students engaged and maintain
a positive learning environment throughout the lesson.

By the end of the week, I conducted a mock demo teaching session with a small group of colleagues.
This practice run allowed me to simulate the actual demo and receive feedback from peers. Their
insights were incredibly helpful, highlighting areas for improvement and boosting my confidence.

This week has been intense but incredibly rewarding. The preparation process has underscored the
importance of thorough planning, flexibility, and attention to detail. I feel more prepared and confident
for my demo teaching session and am eager to showcase my growth and skills as an educator.

Week 9

During my inaugural week of demo teaching Grade 8 Health, I delved into the intricate topic of the
Modes of Transmission of Communicable Diseases. Despite initial apprehensions, I endeavored to foster
an environment conducive to learning, starting with a comprehensive introduction to myself and the
week's objectives. Through engaging discussions, I emphasized the critical importance of health
education, gradually transitioning into the core content. Employing a range of pedagogical techniques,
including visual aids and interactive group activities, I navigated through various modes of disease
transmission, highlighting preventative measures and dispelling common misconceptions. Facilitating
active participation and guided discussions, I aimed to cultivate understanding and critical thinking
among students. As the week unfolded, I continually sought feedback, adapted my approach, and
assessed comprehension through quizzes and discussions. Reflecting on this formative experience, I
recognize both the challenges faced and the rewarding moments of connection and learning. Moving
forward, I am committed to refining my teaching strategies and nurturing a dynamic and inclusive
learning environment for my students.

Week 10

Transitioning to a new learning environment can be both exciting and challenging, especially for Grade 9
students. As they embark on their high school journey, they are faced with new teachers, classmates,
and academic expectations. This transition period, often occurring in the 10th week of the school year,
marks a significant milestone in their educational experience.

In this new environment, Grade 9 students may encounter unfamiliar routines and procedures, requiring
them to adapt quickly to their surroundings. They may feel a mix of emotions – excitement about the
opportunities ahead, nervousness about meeting new people, and perhaps even apprehension about
the increased workload. However, this period also presents a chance for personal growth and
development as students learn to navigate the complexities of high school life. With the support of
teachers, guidance counselors, and peers, Grade 9 students can overcome these initial challenges and
thrive in their new learning environment.

As they settle into their new surroundings, Grade 9 students have the opportunity to explore a wider
range of subjects and extracurricular activities, allowing them to discover their passions and interests.
