This is a two day Highly Interactive Workshop for Employers to Know and Understand their Essential Rights. It is also to
have practical insights on how to handle Human Resource in particular Employee Relations situations. This programme
will highlight the Rights of the Employers from Common Law to Industrial Law. However the critical part of this training is
to ensure the Employers stay within the parameters of the Law.
In other words to understand the legalities and implications of their rights and to ensure that they “ STAY WITHIN THEIR
RIGHTS “ Otherwise they could flout the law and this could result in serious implications and cause disputes with
employees at the Labour Department, Industrial Relations Department and the Industrial Court. Besides the financial
implications it could also dampen the morale of employees and damage the reputation of the Employer

About Trainer
Mr. Francis Arul is a graduate from the University of Malaya. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree.
After graduating he spent a few years working in the private and public sector and gained vast experience in
supervisory management
He started work with the National Productivity Centre (NPC) now the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC).He
was attached to the training arm of Management and gained experience in all aspects of management with
specialization in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. During his tenure with NPC he has attended
and acquired Diplomas and Certificates in Management, Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations
from various countries.

He also led a team on a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to study the Human Resource and
Industrial Relations systems in the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. The Study group made a Report and
Recommendations to the Ministry of Human Resources
Francis was involved in training for NPC till the year 2000. Since then he has been a Trainer cum Consultant and is
associated with a number of companies as their consultant. He is also on the panel of many companies providing
advisory services on all aspects of management, human resource management and Industrial relations.
Francis has also been connected with various training institutions and conducted the MBA, BBBA and DIMP
programmes for Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), the Diploma in Human Resource programme for the
University of Malaya. He has also conducted public programmes for Institute of Training and Development (ITD).
In 1994 he was rated the “Training Resource Person of the Year “by MIM (Malaysian Institute of Management “for the
consistent excellent evaluations in the training programmes conducted.
Over the years, he has developed a wide range of training programmes for numerous companies and many of
them have been tailor made to suit the special requirements of the client organizations. He has also researched and
presented seminar papers on various topics at the National and International forums. Some of the countries he has
presented these papers include Japan, India, Iran and Indonesia.
Francis also provides consultancy services on a project to project basis on Human resource issues and problems
including matters pertaining to Termination and Dismissals. This is sometimes on a “retainer basis “.
In the course of consultancy services he has guided numerous companies on the proper procedure to adopt in the
domestic inquiry. This had greatly prevented the companies from committing fatal mistakes.
Overall, in the years Francis has been in training he has made a presence in the field of training and development in
the country including Sabah and Sarawak. He has contributed significantly towards the betterment of management
practices in companies. He is a strong advocate of the philosophy of “Best Practices “in companies to become
“Excellent Companies “.
Francis is also a certified trainer with PSMB (Perbadanan Sumber Manusia Berhad).
