According to Stephenson Delays in receiving imported raw materials, parts and components
through customs procedures and out of the port in Manila were cited by the firm as a major
reason for cost increases, given the congestion of the port, deteriorated infrastructure and slow
processing times. Customs procedures and regulatory requirements may cause delays in
receiving imported raw materials. Delays at the Port of Manila due to customs inspection, tariffs,
or missing documentation could result in extended waiting times for goods to reach the
warehouse. This can disrupt the timely flow of raw materials into the warehouse, affecting the
production schedule and leading to inventory shortages or delays.
