Task Description: There are TWO parts to this assessment

Part A Hunger Cloth 10 marks
You are tasked with creating a hunger cloth that embodies the
teachings of Jesus regarding compassion and care for those in need,
with direct references to biblical passages.
A hunger cloth is a piece of fabric adorned with symbols, images, and
words that represent the issue of hunger and the call to action to
address it. This cloth will serve as a visual representation of Jesus'
teachings on empathy and social justice, grounded in biblical
principles.
Some of the values to use as inspiration for your cloth can
include:
Forgiveness, Mercy, Compassion, Empathy, Social justice,
Stewardship, Service
Instructions:
Research: Begin by researching various teachings of Jesus related to
compassion, empathy, and social justice as found in the Bible. Have a
look at resources such as the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)
and other relevant passages you have unpacked in class to deepen
your understanding of these values.
Drafting of the cloth: Using your understanding of Jesus' teachings
and the values listed above draft what your hunger cloth may look
like. Incorporate symbols, images, and words that directly reference
biblical passages highlighting Jesus' teachings on compassion,
empathy, and social justice.
Create: Create your hunger cloth using the materials necessary.
Utilize fabric markers, paint, fabric scraps, or any other materials you
believe will effectively convey your message while integrating the
chosen biblical references. You will need to buy Calico for this task.

Part B Reflection 250 words 10 marks
Write a reflective piece that discusses the following:
1. Your Bible Passage- which one did you use for inspiration and why?
What is the message of the passage and how have you used it in your
Hunger Cloth?
2. The Teachings of Jesus and how Catholic values have inspired your
hunger cloth design.
3. Discuss how your hunger cloth reflects Jesus' teachings or catholic
values such as: compassion, empathy, and social justice.

Bennies Net on Monday Week 9 using the following link and then you

You are advised to:


 Manage your time effectively to ensure thorough research,
thoughtful design, and meaningful reflection.
Advice on  Look at samples of hunger cloths and what design concepts can

Your hunger cloth and reflective piece will be assessed based on the
following criteria:
1. Understanding of Jesus' teachings on compassion, empathy, and
Marking social justice.

Feedback After you have completed your final assessment task and it has been
marked, you will be given feedback on your task in the following ways:

● The marker will provide feedback on content/skills/strategies
which you could use to enhance/improve your results
Any drafts you complete before submission will only be given verbal
feedback you will not receive a mark or written feedback.

 Extensively uses imagery, colour, symbols, and other
visual elements to depict the Teachings of Jesus and
Catholic values
 Demonstrates a sound amount of creativity and originality
incorporating some ideas and artistic elements to create a
Hunger Cloth
 Communicates the themes, messages and ideas behind a 5-6
bible passage in a sufficient manner.
 Sound use of imagery, colour, symbols, or other visual
elements to depict the Teachings of Jesus and Catholic
values
 Demonstrates a basic amount of creativity and originality,
