(please wait at least 2 minutes before reading the next paragraph)

Good afternoon, everyone, to formally start our culmination program, may I request everyone to please
stand for the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by the opening song to be sang by
Leslie Kate Rapaya.

English Language Month is a month-long celebration of the uniqueness of the English language and all
the learners working hard to master it! English has become a way of promoting multilingual
education, linking for mutual understanding and peace. Before we begin, let me just share with you a
quote to ponder from an American author Frank Smith, which I quote

“One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way”

To our ever-dynamic school head Mrs. Thamerline A. Castro, our respected guidance councilor
Ms. Melarjie Lavador, our Fellow teachers, and students, good afternoon once again! This is Gwein Jie
Castro and Jamstin Nitse Lato … your emcees for today, and welcome to our English Month Culminating
Activity with a theme:

“ Promoting Multilingual Education: Linking for Mutual Understanding and Peace”.

Now, let’s have Mrs. Rosemarie Salve C. Gonzales for her welcome message.

(pause for the welcome message)

Thank you so much Mrs. Rosemarie for that very warm welcome. The celebration of the English month is
no longer new to use since it’s already an annual activity in every school. With that, a series of events
and competition are being conducted, and this afternoon, we will witness the talent of every Cahumayan
students on how they will deliver a story through a tell a tale activity. So now, may we have Mrs. Joan
Marie Baura to read the mechanics and criteria for judging.

Thank you very much Ma’am Baura.

This time to formally start our Story telling “Tell a tale”, I will introduce you our panel of judges:

The first judge is our dynamic and active sports coordinator in cahumayan senior high school Mr. Warren
Perez. Our next judge is a very charming and enthusiastic ADAS in Cahumayan, Ms. Mary Rose Camance.
And the last judge is our respected and sharp-witted teacher Ms. Melarjie Lavador.

So, with no further ado, let’s now begin the contest proper. Let us have Apple Rose C. Meca one of the
representatives from Grade 11.

(Pause at least 5 seconds… )

Thank you participants. Your tell a tale story is truly heart-warming, it gave us goosebumps while you tell
a story. Our board of judges will have another headache in choosing who’s the best among all of you
since most of you did great. Right Ma’am and sir?

To give our judges a time to analyze their decision, let us all be entertained and learned for the question-
and-answer portion.

One of the highlights of this activity is the Word of the day, if you are keen observant and has the time to
read in our bulletin board located at the front of function room from the past few days, definitely you
can answer the questions and for sure you will not allow a day not to know and familiar a new
vocabulary word. I read the questions and the choices, then you will answer, anyone who could give the
right answer, there will be a prize to be given. There are only 5 questions so now students. Are you
ready?
