NAME : ……………………………………………………………. GRADE : ……. LEARNING AREA : ………………………..
Student Self - Reflection
1. I really liked learning about : Trigonometry – I found trigonometry fascinating, especially understanding how to use sine, cosine, and tangent in right-angled triangles. It felt like solving puzzles! Polynomials – Learning how to factorize polynomials and understand their behavior was both challenging and rewarding. Coordinate Geometry – The study of coordinates and how to find the distance between two points or the area of triangles on the coordinate plane really sparked my interest. Linear Equations and Graphs – I liked how solving linear equations and graphing them helped me visualize mathematical relationships in a clear, visual way. Probability – The concept of probability was exciting because it helped me understand how to predict outcomes in uncertain situations.
2. I wish that I had learnt about :
Use of Advanced Algebraic Identities – I should have spent more time mastering complex algebraic identities, such as those related to factorization, so I could solve problems more efficiently. Clearer Understanding of Polynomials – I wish I had understood the connection between polynomials and their graphs, as this would have made factorization and finding roots more intuitive. Better Visualization of Geometry – I feel I should have spent more time visualizing geometric concepts and figures, especially when it comes to theorems and proofs in circles, triangles, and quadrilaterals. More Time on Applications of Arithmetic Progressions – I should have explored the practical applications of arithmetic progressions (AP), such as how they relate to real-world scenarios like savings, investments, and architecture.
3. These are my strengths in this learning area :
Trigonometry – I find trigonometry quite intuitive and am comfortable using sine, cosine, and tangent to solve problems involving right-angled triangles and angles. Efficient Use of Formulas – I have a strong grasp of key formulas, such as those for areas, volumes, and algebraic identities, and I can quickly apply them to solve problems. Understanding Arithmetic Progressions (AP) – I am skilled in solving problems related to arithmetic progressions, including finding the nth term and the sum of terms in a series. Coordinate Geometry – I am comfortable working with coordinates, calculating distances, midpoints, and areas of triangles, and I understand how to plot and interpret graphs. Speed and Accuracy – I have developed a good pace while solving math problems, especially during exams, and I can complete most questions accurately within the allotted time. Application of Probability – I have a good grasp of basic probability concepts and can solve problems related to probability, like those involving dice, cards, or simple events.
4. These are things that I need to work on :
Advanced Problem-Solving Techniques – While I can solve basic problems well, I need to improve my skills for tackling more complex and challenging questions, especially in algebra and geometry. Time Management During Exams – I often struggle to complete all questions in the allotted time. I need to work on managing my time better during tests, especially for lengthy problems or proofs. Conceptual Clarity in Trigonometry – I need to improve my understanding of some trigonometric identities and their proofs, and practice applying them to different types of problems. Application of Formulas – While I know many formulas, I sometimes forget to apply them correctly or miss key steps in my calculations. I need to focus on consistently using the right formulas in the right context.
