Financial, real estate and professional services contribute nearly 20% to the GDP and will
increase as the country's growth trajectory continues. To sustain such growth and fulfil the
aspirations of the youth, the financial institutions have to reach the hinterland of the
country, and this will require more digitally advanced, technologically superior and credible
financial products to cater to the requirements of all age groups, professions and also
improve their standard of living. But there is a need to improve the financial credibility of
the new financial start-ups that are providing loans to increase their valuations and
promoting riskier investments. Hence I want to work to increase financial literacy among the
masses, increase financial prudence amongst the youth, bring out innovative solutions and
products to improve convenience in all aspects of finances and, at the same time, help
increase the reach of credit to everyone in need. At the Corporate level, technologies like
A.I, ML, blockchain, and financial analytics are slowly being adopted; hence, I want to
leverage these technologies to take faster decisions, reduce operations and financing costs,
and help companies scale up faster.
Consultancy
Post liberalization, both the service sector and manufacturing had a phenomenal growth
rate and have catapulted our country into a global hub. With an increase in ease of doing
business, make in India, self-reliance campaigns, and a push towards digitization, the Indian
incorporation is going through a transformation change. I want to facilitate this change at a
faster rate and make all organizations, mainly traditional organizations like MSMEs, adopt
new technologies, removing inefficiencies right from procurement of raw materials to
delivery of goods and services. I believe that innovations happen at the intersection of
different fields of work; hence, by being part of a consultancy, I will get the opportunity to
work on various projects in other industries and implement the expertise and learnings
gained from one task to another. As a consultant of a global firm, I want to act as a bridge in
bringing the best practices of firms outside the country to ours and directly help in the
country's development.
General Management
"With great power comes great responsibilities". This quote summarises the importance of a
general manager who undertakes the daily operations and ensures the organisation's goals
and objectives are met. I have been organising many events during my college and have
handled a lot of verticals like – PR, logistics, backstage operations, sponsorship etc. These
events have given me the proper knowledge and confidence to oversee the operations of
big multinational companies. I believe that in a conglomerate like Hinduja, I can work across
domains and act as a bridge in different departments, thereby increasing coordination
within the firm. After gaining the right knowledge and experience in all fields and different
SBUs within Hinduja, I can take strategic decisions for the firm, understand our customers
better, and improve our services.
Marketing
The key differentiators for big brands boil downs to their ability to market their products
well and position them in a positive light in front of their customers. Marketing can help
build up values and notions of society and can thus influence people's behavior and decide
the lifecycle of products. With the increase in sizes and budgets of companies, their
marketing expenses have also shot up. This has led to the rise in demand for people with
marketing acumen. I believe I look at problems with a fresh perspective and offer innovative
solutions that can effectively communicate the products value to the consumers while
converting a need into a desire and creating a brand image. Having the ability to adapt to
the changing and growing market, I feel I can implement my learnings from textbooks in real
life. Having been at a consumer's side all my life, I have always tried to look at factors
influencing their buying patterns. Now I would like to explore the side of multi-national
brands like HUL, which sells their product worldwide and implement my learning to help
brands create more consumer-centered products.
IT
Information technology has been a catalyst for processing the vast amount of data and
generating data-driven results in almost every sector today. Technology has penetrated
every sphere of life. Thus, I am inquisitive and want to pursue my interest in technology by
using my analytical skills to make better decisions, optimize systems, and bring out
technology-based solutions that improve processes and increase customer satisfaction. The
digital transformation we are going through today is global and therefore involves adopting
digital technologies for internal and external operations, including sales, marketing, and
support efforts is an absolute need. Digital talent and capabilities are crucial to transforming
and exploiting new business opportunities. In this regard, I want to contribute to facilitating
this transformation and empowering decision-making by deepening data analysis and
implementing industry 4.0 to make India a global manufacturing hub. I believe that working
at Microsoft will help me leverage the technology to create relevant solutions in vast areas
like agriculture, manufacturing and service.
HR
"Being a great workplace is the difference between being a good company and a great
company." This difference can be accomplished only by an HR professional, which helps in
not just bringing the right talent to the company and nurturing that talent, retaining it for a
more extended period, and imparting the organization's values to those hired professionals.
No organization, irrespective of the knowledge base, can succeed today without an HR who
not just creates a structure in the organization but also promotes a culture that helps
unwrap the potential of the company's human assets. With increasing competition between
organizations and the race to be the first in the market, HR professionals must ensure that
all employees are motivated and perform as per expectations. Hence, HR analytics can be
utilized to monitor and support human capital. By being part of BCG, I believe I can learn the
work culture and professional requirements of different industries and provide solutions to
make the organizations more effective and correctly utilize their talent. I have always been
empathetic to all my friends, colleagues and family members and have had a good rapport
with everyone. Hence I believe that I can utilize my emotional quotient for smoother
internal operations and act as a spokesperson to represent my company in any event.
Operations
Indian manufacturing is exponentially rising and poised to become a global hub in the post
covid world. The pandemic has highlighted the supply chain vulnerabilities in multinational
and domestic operations; operating industry from remote locations has been a more
significant challenge in the last two years and has pushed organisations to adopt digital
processes and become more agile to supply and demand. The pandemic witnessed a huge
demand for the vaccines, and the companies were struggling with a reduced workforce and
lack of capability to scale up operations; being a graduate in the field of biology and now as
an MBA graduate, I realised the importance of processes and various subdomains like
procurement, inventory management, assembly line operations as well as inward-outward
bound logistics. I want to utilise Industry 4.0 applications like - robotics and automation,
digital twins etc., to revolutionise the field of operations in our country and realise the
dream of a 25% contribution to GDP by 2025. I believe that being a part of the Tata group,
which has adopted technology in their operations in all of their verticals and has a culture of
promoting employees, I will be able to make India Atma Nirbhar soon.
