Methodology:-
Mama bear speared some chocolate sauce over a crusty pie cut in quarters. She put it on one quarter
for baby bear, one for papa bear and one for the her own share .How many quarters did she put the
sauce on ? How many quarters did not have any chocolate sauce? (three quarter or ¾; and one quarter
or ¼)Then topic will be announced. The Other fractions
Students will be explained that a fraction is used to represent the portion/part of the whole thing. It
represents the equal parts of the whole. A fraction has two parts, namely numerator and denominator.
The number on the top is called the numerator, and the number on the bottom is called the
denominator.
Teacher will fold a paper into two equal parts and will show the students that it is divided into two
equal parts; each part is called half, or ½. Then teacher will fold the same paper into four equal parts
and tell the students that it is divided into four equal parts, each part is called a quarter, or 1/4 ,but
shapes can be divided into different fractions.
: Teacher will draw a shape on the board, divided into 8 equal parts .3 parts of shape will be shaded,
then teacher will write fractions3/8 after this students will write the fractions of the shaded parts on
the chart.
Activity: Students will write the fractions of the shaded parts on the chart.
(d) Wrap-up: The teacher will wrap up with the help of flash cards and board summary.
