Core Subject Description: An initiation to the activity and process of philosophical reflection as a search for a synoptic vision of life. Topics to be
discussed include the human experiences of embodiment, being in the world with others and the environment, freedom, intersubjectivity, sociality,
being unto death.

PROCEDURE TEACHER TIPS


Introduction: Introduce the topic: Method of Philosophizing
Essential Question: How does the method of philosophizing enable us to critically examine and
understand the fundamental aspects of human existence, and how can this approach be applied to
develop a more holistic perspective on life?
Motivation: -The teacher will flash an image on the screen and ask students the following questions:

Instruction: Presentation of the Learning Targets


a. to employ the method of philosophizing to critically analyze and question assumptions, beliefs,
and concepts, developing reasoned arguments and drawing thoughtful conclusions about
complex issues.
b. demonstrate the ability to use philosophical methods, such as Socratic questioning, dialectical
reasoning, and logical analysis, to explore and evaluate ideas.

 Give a lecture and thorough discussion on the key concepts of Method of Philosophizing.
 Use multimedia presentation (PowerPoint Presentation) and video presentation.

 Integration of Gospel values in the topic
 The teacher will present the key concept of the discussion:
 In the study of Philosophy, it is important that we have an understanding of the difference
between the concepts of the Particular and the Universal.
 Differentiating them helps us enhance our discipline of the mind which helps us arrive at so
many forms of knowledge. In the world we are living in right now where there is an
overload of information because of the ease of accessibility we need to learn the distinction
between the two so as not to fall into the trap of misleading individuals.
 It is therefore important that we are able to maximize the use of our reasoning capacities.
The link between the two concepts is the process of reasoning.
The process of reasoning from the particular to the universal is what we call inductive
reasoning while the process of reasoning from the universal to the particular in the
deductive reasoning (INQUIRY-BASED) (INTEGRATIVE)

1. Write a reflection paper on the importance of the reasoning process. How does this protect
you from the misleading concepts of those who propagate fake news?
2. Write your reflections on a piece of short bond paper using font size 12 single spaced.

Enrichment: Write a short reflection paper on a legal sized paper about your own method of Philosophy based
on your personal understanding of the discussions. And How will you apply our discussion to your
daily-life activities as a Grade-11 student?
