own assignments for classes, but also provides many useful resources from others creations,
such as the powerpoint I am using for my lesson.

Warm-up/Introduction:
(Describe how you initiate instruction and introduce the lesson focus)
Ask students what is the number one stressor in their life? Do they know a
possible solution? Journal entry
Class discussion on what a stressor is, and that it can be internal or external.
Mini-Lecture & Guided Practice:
(Describe in detail the direct instruction you will lead, the content you will include, and how you will model the
skill/content for students)
Stress Management Powerpoint
Discuss the definition of stress
Discuss what internal and external mean, based on stressors, and give specific,
relatable examples for students
Determine the impacts of stress on physical, mental, and emotional/social health

Help students determine what stressors they may experience

Help students determine what activities help relax/calm them

Formative Assessment(s): (How will you check Questions to ask students: (What questions will
for understanding during direct instruction.) you ask students to engage them in the lesson?)

throughout the discussion an internal feeling you get that overwhelms you
regularly, or an external factor that puts pressure

or take your mind off of everything else?

Individual & Collaborative Student Practice Time:

(Describe all instructional activities you use for student practice. Please make and attach any
worksheets/handouts/other activity materials needed)
After class discussion/lecture, I will go over
directions on the worksheet. Students should develop a goal to effectively manage
their stress. Students should identify three internal and external stressors in their
lives, their possible causes, support systems, and discussed strategies to reduce
stress.
Assessment:
(Describe your assessment here and attach a copy of it below)
Create a visually pleasing, organized stress tracker system over two weeks.
Students can use Canva as a resource, or create their own paper using
materials I provide. On the back of their assignment, students will be instructed
to answer one question, “What are three practices you will utilize in your life in
the following weeks to maintain low stress levels? Discuss a plan to complete
these practices and reduce overall stress.”
Closing:
(Discussion points, questions, or demonstration to emphasize key points in the lesson focus for all domains. Align with
learning objectives.)
Review the impact of stress on different aspects of life, and discuss speaking
with a trusted adult if stress begins to affect students. Ask students if they have
questions over the assignments, and ensure all students have the one question
written down to answer for their assignment.
Modifications or Differentiation:
(Describe some modifications or extensions you could make to your lesson if needed by students)
Some students may need directions for the assignment to take home
Some students may need time in class to work on the assignment, if they don’t
have the art materials at home, I will provide 2-3 minutes each class time for
students to fill out their stress log and make notes if they need to.

Include your assessment and any instructional materials used during
