COURSE OUTLINE
COURSE DESCRIPTION
An advance course of detailed study of the human body with emphasis on the gross and
histological study of the following body systems: integumentary, skeletal, muscular,
nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary and
reproductive. 3 lecture hours and 1 three-hour laboratory each week. Prerequisites: NONE.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
1. Improve the ability of the students in knowing the parts of the human body.
2. To visualize the principle of human anatomy.
3. Apply terms and concepts of the course to a different variety of the real world and
clinical situation.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The students should be able
To use anatomical terms to describe body sections, regions and relative positions
To explain about the different types of tissues
To describe the structure of each major organs of the all the body systems

TESTS AND QUIZZES
There will be two/ three tests which should take approximately 1 hour to complete them.
Each exam to be made up predominantly of multiple choice questions, but some short
answer/discussion questions may appear. You will be responsible for material presented in
lecture, recitation and in the reading assignments. There will be quizzes, which will add
points to your grade. Five quizzes will be given which will be in variable format, and cover
lecture portions. Quizzes are given announced in advance or unannounced. So it is very
important to read the chapters of the lecture each day.
CLASS ATTENDANCE:
Every student is expected to be present for every lecture hour. If he/she is absent for about
15% of the class he/she may be graded F for the particular course.

Quiz/Tests (CATs): 5%
Assignment: 10%
Mid Semester exam: 10%
Laboratory: 10%
Final practical exam: 20%
Final theory exam: 40%
Total: 100%
