Writing my reflection

FIRST DAY OF TEACHING


As I prepare myself for the first period. I don’t know what kind of attitude or what kind
of facial expression I show to the students inside the classroom. It is either a serious, happy,
jolly, joker, or a strict teacher. As I started the lesson, I look so very serious because of my
voice and facial expression. Thus, the students show their respect and attention of what I am
saying in front of them. The students are quiet and attentive. After the first period, its recess
time. I am feeling grateful and respected, because of the attitude of my students during the first
period. As I prepare myself for the next period, I say that, I will try to the next section the
attitude I will implement on my previous section. My other students feel nervous because of
my voice and facial expression again. Aside from that, I am shock of the prayer, it indicates
“Lord, sana mapagtagumpayan po namin ang subject na ito”. I am very curios of that. Then
after the class, I will talk to the students who lead the prayer, he replied: “because we feel
nervous to you sir”. Then, there is a lot of reflection that comes into my mind. I say that’s
“okay”.
At the end of the day, I say to myself, that I need to change my attitude in terms of
facing my students. It is not good that upon entering the classroom, my students should see a
serious teacher’s face. It will lead to the distractions, nervousness of the students. They do not
focus on the lesson because they feel uncomfortable and nervous.
Therefore, me as a Student-Teacher. I will change my attitude to make my students feel
comfortable and free to express their thoughts and ideas.

WORKING ON MY LEARNING ARTIFACTS
I am adept at designing engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to diverse learning
styles and abilities. I can create clear objectives and choose appropriate instructional strategies to
facilitate learning. Additionally, I excel at delivering content in a clear and concise manner,
utilizing various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities to
enhance understanding and retention. Moreover, I am skilled at assessing student learning
through formative and summative assessments, allowing me to gauge progress and adjust
instruction accordingly. I can analyze assessment data to identify areas of strength and areas in
need of improvement, enabling me to provide targeted support to my students.
However, there are still areas in which I can continue to grow and improve. One area is
differentiation - tailoring instruction to meet the individual needs of each student. While I strive
to provide differentiated instruction, I recognize the importance of further refining my strategies
to ensure that all students are challenged and supported at their appropriate level.
Furthermore, I aim to enhance my ability to integrate technology into the instructional
process effectively. Technology offers vast opportunities for enhancing learning experiences, and
I am committed to exploring innovative ways to leverage technology to support student learning
and engagement.
