LESSON PLAN

I. Subject Matter:

a. Topic : Development of Puberty

b. Age Group : 13-18 years old

II. Objectives:
Upon completion of this lesson, student will be able to:
1. Describe physical changes in males and females during puberty.
2. Discuss the physical changes of male/female at puberty
3. Show awareness in body changes during puberty
III. Procedure:

A. Introductory activities:

a.) Motivation
Ask the different parts of the male and female reproductive system.Show power point presentation of the reproductive
system.
2. Presentation
Task 1. Observe and Answer

Show a picture of infant and a childThe pupils are going to differentiate the characteristics of an infant and achild by putting
the strips of cartolina in Venn Diagram.

A.)Run or walk backwards

C.)Learn to crawl
D.)Jump on one foot
E.)Walk up and down the stairs

1. Divide the class into small group
2. Provide them with the activity sheet, cartolina and marking pen.
3. Provide instruction in doing the activity (allotted time for the activity, the
data table to be accomplished, group presenter/member’s
role/responsibility, precautionary measures to take, etc.).
GUIDE QUESTIONS:
A. What are some characteristics among boys/girls?
B. Are there similar characteristics for both boys and girls?
C. At what age do these characteristics usually appear?
Teacher: I am going to group you into three. Observe the physical changes in your body. Both boys and girls.You are
going to write some changes happen in your body, physically andwrite them under the male column. And for the
female column, you aregoing to write some of the changes happen in the body of the girls.The leader of the group will
explain the characteristics contributed by themembers.Supervise the class while they are doing the activity.
C. Explanations
1. Ask the group presenters to post their output. Have the grouprepresentative present the results of the activity.

Three (3) minutes may be allotted per group presentation.

2.Take note of pupil’s responses to the activity questions.

3.Check the pupil’s responses to the activity questions while discussing the activity.

4. Clarify misconceptions when needed

6. Pubic and underarm hair.

CHANGES IN FEMALE:
1. Menstruation occurs
2. Pubic and under arm hair appear
3. Breasts becomes big
4. Starts to look rounder and softer
5. Hips begin to broaden
6. Growth rate increase
REMEMBER:During this stage of 10-17 years old should expect more bodily changesHappen o boys and girls like you.
This is called the pubertal age orPuberty. It is also known as pre-adolescence since it is at stage of yourlife when you

Teacher: I have a PUBERTY BOX here all you have to do is to pick 1 mail inside the box and place in the right picture
