Name: Week of:

Body Stretch & Breathing

Especially hands/ arms/ neck/ shoulders. Body should be RELAXED when playing.
Tension is evident in tone quality and accuracy.
Breathing should be diaphragmatic and NOT in your shoulders!

Warm Up
Long Tones or Single/Double/Triple Beat with Slow Metronome / Check Patterns
Tuning

Scales or Rudiments, Exercises, Etudes

These should help with manual dexterity and
should be done with intention. It’s ok to use
the same exercise a few times in a row.

Sight Reading
Use a method book or website to practice!

Repertoire Work
Be SPECIFIC with what you’re working on.
Which measures or phrases in which pieces
require your attention? What are you hoping
to achieve besides pitch and rhythmic
accuracy during these practice sessions?

Warm Down
Play something short & fun!

Goals for Continued Practice

What still needs work? Again, be specific - it
can be a particular skill and/or an exercise or
repertoire selection.
