PSU ( F, G1, G2 boards ) for KE-V42A10E/KDE-V42A12U

Circuit Description
1. Standby converter
This is a burst mode flyback type converter circuit, and consists of STR-A6169 which Control IC and power MOSFET were built in the same package.
Output voltage is 5.1V at point of C6207 and 18V are supplied as Vcc for control of a PFC converter.
Over Voltage Protection(OVP): If the No.2 pin of IC6101 becomes more than 28V, protection will operate and carries out the latch stop.
Over Current Protection(OCP): If the No.1 pin of IC6101 becomes more than 0.77V, protection of a pulse by pulse will operate.

2. PFC converter
This is a discontinuous current mode boost chopper converter controlled by UC3854N. And Q6306/Q6307Q6308 are MOSFET for the main switching.
Output voltage is about 385V and is adjusted by variable resistance RV6301.
AC input low voltage protection: If AC input is set to about 60v or less, operation will stop.
OVP: If output voltage exceeds 450V, it becomes a latch stop.
OCP: If the current of L6301 exceeds 17A, protection of a pulse by pulse will work.
Thermal shutdown: If the temperature of the heat sink with which Q6306,Q6307 and Q6308 is attached becomes about 120 degrees, it will latch stop.

3. VC converter
This is a half bridge current resonance type converter controlled by CXD9841P. And Q6501/Q6502 are MOSFET for the main switching.
Operation will be started if PFC output voltage exceeds 240V.
Output voltage are 33V for tuner, 18V for DC/DC converter, 10.5V for signal board, 24V for audio.
OVP: If 10.5V line voltage exceeds 16V or 18V line voltage exceeds 21V, protection will operate and carry out a latch stop.
OCP: If the current of C6517 exceeds about 2.2A, protection of a pulse by pulse will work.
If the state continues during a fixed period, it will become intermittent operation, and a latch stop will be carried out if it continues 4 times further.

4. VA converter
This is a half bridge current resonance type converter controlled by CXD9841P. And Q6703/Q6704 are MOSFET for the main switching.
This converter will start operation, if VC converter operates and primary Vcc voltage is supplied to IC6701.
Output voltage is variable from 50V to 70V, and it adjusted by variable resistance RV6601 so that the specification of a panel may be suited.
OVP: If output voltage exceeds 89V, protection will operate and carry out a latch stop.
OCP: If the current of C6715 exceeds about 3.5A, protection of a pulse by pulse will work.
If the state continues during a fixed period, it will become intermittent operation, and a latch stop will be carried out if it continues 4 times further.

5. VS converter
This is a half bridge current resonance type converter controlled by CXD9841P. And Q6905/Q6906 are MOSFET for the main switching.
This converter will start operation, if the No.9 pin of CN6403 (VS_ON terminal) becomes high.
Output voltage is variable from 195V to 215V, and it adjusted by variable resistance RV6801 so that the specification of a panel may be suited.
OVP: If output voltage exceeds 235V, protection will operate and carry out a latch stop.
OCP: If the current of C6915 exceeds about 4A, protection of a pulse by pulse will work.
If the state continues during a fixed period, it will become intermittent operation, and a latch stop will be carried out if it continues 4 times further.

Circuit Description

6. VE/VSET/VSCAN converter
All of these converters are the same circuit composition, and they are flyback type converters using the TOP-Switch.
TOP-Switch consists of one chip in a PWM control circuit and power MOSFET.
VE output voltage is variable from 70V to 110V,
and it adjusted by variable resistance RV6802 so that the specification of a panel may be suited.
VSET output voltage is variable from 180V to 210V,
and it adjusted by variable resistance RV6804 so that the specification of a panel may be suited.
VSCAN output voltage is variable from -170V to -190V,
and it adjusted by variable resistance RV6803 so that the specification of a panel may be suited.
OCP: This function is built in TOP-Switch, if the current of MOSFET exceeds 1.0A, it will operate, and if it continues during a fixed period,
it will become intermittent operation.
OVP: This function is realized by detecting the control winding voltage of a converter transformer. If winding voltage exceeds the zener voltage
for detection of each converter, a power supply will carry out a latch stop.

7. Sequence circuit
When Power signal is set to "H", a PFC converter operates, after the output rises, VC converter operates and VA converter operates.
When VS_ON(CN6108 #9) signal is set to “H”, VS converter operates, and VE/VSET/VSCAN converter operates.
Please refer to a Power ON sequence chart.
